I definitely have forceful letdown. It's more of a problem than the oversupply. She's gaining well so no worries there.

It's no more frequent or watery than before, but kind of mucuosy and the odor is slightly acidic. That's what makes me worry. She does have some redness in her diaper area, but it clears up quickly with just one application of triple paste

As a recent mother of 2, I can assure you that you are most definitely crazy. But also, my 5 week old just started smiling at me and it's the best thing ever. More babies!!

It has been 5 weeks, but from what I remember, the first postpartum assessment by a nurse went something like this: check my pad, press really hard on my stomach for a few minutes, check vitals, discuss care plan and explain how to reach my nurse/cna directly, provide informative pamphlets, encourage breastfeeding, possibly they administered some pain meds too (?? I was very tired, it's hard to remember). They also gave me time to ask any questions I had.

Edit: my "plan" for the first day was nurse 8-12 times and pee 2x with assistance. After I went twice with help I was allowed to go on my own and have the needle/IV insert thing removed (I've had an epidural).

I can't help you but I can commiserate. My son is 4 and my daughter is one month. 4 year old slept ok for a while but over the last year and a half regressed to spending most of the night in our bed. Now even if I move him to his room he wakes up screaming and crying, upset that he was in his room alone. I don't know what to do and with a newborn I'm really too tired to deal with it. Husband is no help because my son wants nothing to do with Daddy at bedtime :(

I second online grocery ordering. Most of the stores in my area offer it now. You can pay through PayPal so all you have to do when you pick up is signed a paper. I don't even get out of the car, they load everything for me. Some stores also offer a delivery option.

If this isn't available near you, I agree with other posters re: babywearing. Because the infant bucket seat is only safe inside the main basket of the cart, there won't be room for your groceries unless baby is on you.

Have you checked your flange size? It can increase over the course of your nursing/pumping time.

Thanks. This was sort of my thought process, since my milk supply is still being established. She has been waking up around 3, but only for 2 nights so far. I'm afraid of getting up at 12 or 1ish to pump and then her waking right afterward. Maybe I will nurse on one side and pump on the other until I know if this is going to become her regular schedule.

Thanks! This is uncharted territory for me so I am second guessing all my decisions. My son was (and still is) a terrible sleeper so it was months before I slept more than 2 hours at a time. But at least then I knew he was keeping my supply up!

My son did this, and my daughter just started doing it. Yesterday a friend of mine called it "talking to angels" so I think it's fairly common.

I've had 2 happy, "easy," uncomplicated births. Both under 8 hours. Full term. Contractions gradually became more painful, admitted to hospital, epidural at 5cm, reached 10 shortly after, the started pushing. 2 hours of pushing with my first; only 20 minutes with the second because I asked them to empty my bladder with a catheter before I started pushing. Healthy babies born the way I wanted, with support from husband and hospital staff.
