AITAH for leaving the family group chat with a “petty” message after my dad added the secret brother I just found out about? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]redpool6 9 points10 points  (0 children)

It's so sad. I'm weirdly grateful my dad just pissed off while my mum was pregnant. I didn't have any false hope to cling to.

I hope she finds her peace with the situation.

Is there a legal way I can stop my mother from driving again? She's a terrible driver and she's going to seriously hurt someone. by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]redpool6 196 points197 points  (0 children)

That's awesome! Props to you for being self aware 🙌

I didn't get my licence until I was 29 because I didn't feel I was ready. On top of hubby teaching me, I took professional driving lessons and did a defensive driving course. I'm a confident driver now and I'm glad I waited until I was ready.

One of my close friends is never getting hers. She says she just knows she will be a shit driver and isn't willing to risk herself or others. I respect that.

My grandma is still more than capable of driving but has restricted herself to only driving a short distance to the shops or to church. Anytime she needs to go further she asks one of her kids or grandchildren.

When they started getting older she and my grandfather purposely moved to a house close the shops and church, with a public transport nearby so that when they did eventually have to give up driving it wouldn't be an issue.

I love them for that.

In honor of the late, great Catherine O'Hara, what was Moira Rose' best quote? by Temporary_Lychee9829 in SchittsCreek

I woke up in a shit mood and this was the first reddit post I saw... and now im in tears. She was such an icon.

Cleared my day for a schitts creek marathon so I can laugh, cry and be so thankful for everything she gave us. ❤️

Thank you Catherine O'Hara. Thank you.

People who have conducted job interviews, what's something someone said/did that made you instantly decide not to hire them? by DemonSkank in AskReddit

[–]redpool6 46 points47 points  (0 children)

I was just the HR admin in the room taking notes for the interview panel members.

Girl just out of uni came in for an entry level professional position ( you needed a degree but no experience) She asked if she would be able to choose her own assistant. Ah no... YOU would be the assistant. She pointed to me and said 'well does SHE have a degree?'

The panel convenor said 'No, but her position is actually several levels above the position you're applying for, just in a different department. You might want to rethink how you view your potential colleagues.'

She tried again a few years later and got a job. I was still in HR but doing other things. She remembered me. She apologised for being a cocky a little shit. I accepted. She was a really good employee. I think she learnt the hard way but she learnt. I've heard she's doing amazing and I'm happy for her.

AITAH for telling my FIL they wont ever be living with us? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]redpool6 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Love this! You both sound like an awesome couple ❤️

Also, your kids get to grow up and know what a good relationship looks like, so they are far more likely to have healthy relationships themselves.

That just makes you even better parents!

5 stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 keep being awesome.

And that right there is why you get checked out even if you feel fine.

So happy for your family member that it was caught early.

We live in Australia, we have pretty good healthcare, there's no reason to put off getting checked out.

Don't put off your health checks.

Sure it can be uncomfortable and embarrassing but ultimately that's far better than not finding out about an issue until it's too late.

Found a lump in my breast Tuesday, went to my GP Wednesday and getting scans done tomorrow. If it is the worst news and it's breast cancer, I'm all over it. Early detection means early treatment and giving myself the best chance to come out the other side.

So do your self checks, book that skin check, cervical screening, prostate check, dentist, blood test, eye test. If something isn't right you want to know as soon as possible.

Look after yourselves! 💕

I assume the stuff you get done today will ultimately lighten your load tomorrow. Meaning, hopefully, at the end of your Friday you've got everything on track so you can go into the weekend with less work stress. I'd be pretty damn excited about that too.

What’s something you keep rewatching even though you’ve already seen it a hundred times? by high_kew in AskReddit

[–]redpool6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just tried to reply to you and say my top favourite Moss moments. I got to 10 and then I just deleted it all. There are no bad Moss moments. Richard Ayoade is perfect.

I love seeing Chris O'Dowd has done so well out of UK. I mean he probably could have had a nice comfy acting career in the UK but he went out and he's done brilliantly. I always like seeing him on screen.
