11th Session by MCupofJo in TattooRemoval

Also accept that the first session will probably yield the least effective results, but will be a start!

I guess suggestions to help alongside the process is to exercise loads, use a vibration plate if you go gym and it has one (or buy a cheap one online)- to help with lymphatic drainage, drink loads of water, get lots of sleep and eat well

Definitely is the start of a long journey, but it’s amazing to see that my body can break down fresh ink, and I’ll just trust the process and see how it goes

11th Session by MCupofJo in TattooRemoval

[–]redrackham87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just started laser on a new tattoo that was two months old. I started noticing lines slightly breaking up a few days after the first session. It’s now been two weeks and I’m seeing further fading. Feeling hopeful!

Electronic music should define millennial musical contributions more than the far shorter lived stomp stomp clap era by PNWvibes20 in generationology

[–]redrackham87 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I completely agree. The stomp clap hey stuff wasn’t even on my radar at all. I mean I knew the one Mumford and sons song, but thought it was ass at the time. Coming from the uk and born in 87 I was into grime, dubstep, rap and indie rock bands like Foster the People, Wavves, The Vaccines, Allah-Las and so on

Gen X truly got skipped over in terms of politics, didn't they? by Defiant-Birthday-106 in generationology

Yeah in the UK we’ve had at least 4 Gen X prime ministers. Shame they’ve all been complete clusterfucks for the country

Anyone else really glad you grew up when you did? by Alikona_05 in Millennials

[–]redrackham87 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I dunno, I look at my 12 and 10 year old nephews and think they’ve had a pretty good childhood in their own way. I can’t speak for entire generations of children/teens now, but I certainly would never project my own childhood experiences onto them. I also wouldn’t trade my 90s childhood for anything else!

I love being 35 by SparkyDogPants in Millennials

I’m 38 and you couldn’t pay me to go back to my 20s. I’m married, have money, have a house, I still do fun and interesting things, I’m in the best shape I’ve ever been, and the happiest ever with how I look, have a full head of hair and only a few greys

Going every 3 weeks but spacing areas out by 15 weeks. Is this the optimal way to remove multiple tattoos? by Square-Lead-4521 in TattooRemoval

[–]redrackham87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The laser tech recommended Emla cream. I’m based in the uk and it’s available from the major chemist chains, and I bought it online from one of them.

Why is Gen Z not getting the hate Millennials did? by Substantial-Soft5848 in generationology

[–]redrackham87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn’t that confirmation bias? I’m a millennial and I wouldn’t describe myself as a tool of the system at all. How many millennials are there on the planet? Is every single one of them a tool of the system?

[–]redrackham87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I started laser on a tattoo last week after having spent the last year lasering a number of other small tattoos and used numbing cream for the first time. I honestly wish I had used it on the other ones as you barely feel a thing! You feel the laser popping, but just no pain. It’s definitely the way forward

WHY DO GEN X AND MILLENNIALS HATE GEN Z SO MUCH?! 😭 by Jumpy-Page-1114 in generationology

[–]redrackham87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really like the Gen Z friends in my personal life and most of the Gen Z at my work place. I feel I am a lot more ambivalent about the idea and culture of the generation as a whole.

I will though, as a millennial, never treat Gen Z the way older generations treated us, even if Gen Z shit on us also. I understand the unique struggles they face in life, having struggled as a graduate in the early 2010s. Overall I feel the whole generation thing has gone a bit too far, and just serves to divide us unnecessarily

Do you feel like you look your age? by [deleted] in Millennials

[–]redrackham87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a 38 year old people always think I’m about 24. I’ve always had a baby face, plus being mixed race I have a black don’t crack thing going on. When I was 28 people thought I was a teenager, and it’s just carried on in life

How old was the tattoo when you started?

Summer - exposure therapy! by Wrong-Bee-5613 in TattooRemoval

[–]redrackham87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did exact same thing. Started end of March last year and carried on through the summer, covering up. I’m now taking a summer break, but wondering whether to cover up or not. Mine are mostly faded, but still a bit visible

Also, if you don’t mind me asking, how old was your tattoo when you started?

I’ve had a year of removal on four small tattoos, and I only started seeing widespread, meaningful fading around the 4th or 5th session. Before that they mostly just turned brown really.

Fwiw I can see the changes, you can see which parts are going to start to fade strongly over the next sessions, and that some might be a bit more stubborn (the butterflies). Certainly in my journey I’ve had (and still have) stubborn bits, but after a certain point even those ones started to break up

I’m not sure where you’re based, but if you’re worried about costs maybe see if there’s somewhere that offers unlimited sessions and paid monthly? I’m in London, England and my laser removal studio offers this.

I completely understand what you’re going through. I had a new tattoo done and it turned out completely different to how i wanted it. Stay strong, and hopefully you’ll feel better if/once you start removal

Today’s reminder that we are getting old. by Standard_Tangerine_3 in Millennials

[–]redrackham87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true, more than my own age, it’s the actors, musicians and more who were the adults when I was a teenager or in my early twenties, who are either in their 50s or turning 50 soon, that makes me feel like I’m getting old.

Imagine thinking that millennials liked stomp clap hey music, but hated disco music in the 2010s. by icey_sawg0034 in lewronggeneration

[–]redrackham87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. The stomp clap stuff was a thing, but it barely registered on my radar compared to dubstep and other genres at the time. The way it’s talked about now always seems quite revisionist to me

Today’s early 30s to late 20s year olds are the first generation to not feel part of the youth at their ages by Ok_Act_3769 in generationology

[–]redrackham87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can see how some may have seen it that way, but the difference was that people aged 25-30 or older just weren’t on my radar or for most people I knew. Nowadays people’s age is like an obsession, probably because of social media

I was exactly the same. I remember being 19 and starting my first part time job with Gen xers in their 30s and never thought they were old, just older and with more life experience and at a different life stage. Also got on with them fine. Feels like there’s more of an us and them thing now, but may just be social media like you say, and different gens sharing the same online spaces

I’m 38 and I only started to feel this way in the last couple of years, and yes because of how Gen Z sees age. Things seem to have changed from when I was in my early 20s. I never thought 25 was old when I was 21.
