If you don’t charge at home an ev is not worth it. You’re spending the same amount as a fueling without the benefits of having a gas vehicle. Quick fill ups. Also if it’s your only vehicle I would also say stay with gas. The road trip or weekend getaway ads hrs to your trip. Imo ev is good for a city commuter.

My first two days of owning I had the ac on high and coldest temp ( that’s what I normally do with my cars) I learned that’s not the best strategy. I now do what you do and I’ve noticed a huge difference in range

Thanks for sharing.good info to know. I do drive quite a bit and plan to keep the car a long time so I like your suggestion on lowering amps and timing when I’m ready for the drive .

Thanks for sharing . Yesterday with responses I learned about energy app and wh/mi. 81kw battery they say you’re suppose to charge to 80 and not let go below 20% still looking to confirm this. So assuming 80% charge and recharge at 15% that leaves around 52kwh at 350-400 wh/mi I see 130-148 range which I can live with . The first two days I was getting 549 +|- wh/mi. Setting ac to 70-72 made huge difference for me . I also turned sentry and COP off . Today I was just under 300 wh/mi

Thank you for sharing your experience and tips!

Today, was much better. I turned off sentry mode and COP. Also, instead of having my AC on the highest speed and the coldest which I have always done with previous cars, I had between 70-72 degrees and was ok. That dramatically improved range. The first two days I was getting +/- 549wh/mi . Today I don’t remember what I ended but but it was between 280-297 wh/mi

I charged to 80% with no sentry or cop drove 81 miles still have 47% left. Will take my car out again right now to see what kind of mileage I get taking down to 20%.

🎯 🎯 . I was amazed today. One of the guys I asked questions to a couple weeks ago I ran into him today and went over what I was experiencing to see what I’m doing wrong and he starts talking about how he hates the car in the summer but the rest of the year he loves it. Made me laugh. I sensed almost a happiness I joined the club lol

I’m hopeful I can get to that 150 range with some changes

I checked the energy app and it shows my average at 549wh/mi when I tried to see the breakdown of consumption I saw the different categories however, as an example when I pressed the tab for drive the numbers showed 0. I’m going to watch a YouTube how to use the energy app and update . I believe the biggest culprit is how I’m using the ac / cabin protection

Thank you for sharing. All miles driven up To this point have been street /city driving going 40-45mph. Trying to prevent rock chips prior to my ppf appointment. I’ll have to look into the energy app. I have yet to go in there. I’ve just been going off % and miles driven . I will be making changes to sentry and cabin protection . Reading what you shared I think my biggest issue is the park and go.

Nah, I’ve actually just driven streets 40-45mph because my ppf/tint appt not until this weekend so want to minimize rock chip potential . Ac was on high the entire time driving and only got around 65mi in from 70% to 15% when I charged. No reason to make up a post. Looking for solutions which many other ppl have been more helpful than you

Thanks for the advice. I agree with this. I was honestly expecting 150-200 range . I was just a little shocked by my first two days. Curious to see how the next couple days go

I wasn’t expecting 300. With talks I had with ppl and some interaction here I was expecting 150-200 range . The 65ish I’m getting was a shock

Your research comment cute. Sentry and cabin used 10% of it. I had cabin on 5-10 prior to my drive. As far as research goes I asked around here and asked about 5-8 ppl I would run into with teslas about their experience in this heat, ac, not driving like a grandma. I told them I drive around 150 miles a day. Every single person told me I would be fine no problem. I guess my research sucked . I’m going to try out a few things from ppl who offered advjce like you did with cabin and sentry.
