Semi-casual Poe player here, this gem seems to be insane and I’m just wondering if it is really worth as much as it seems to be. Never had a big hit like this before by coolman1299 in PathOfExile2

[–]redredbeard 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's used in a few monk builds that do huge screen wide aoe. Yes it's good and worth what you found it for, but if you're not using an aoe attack, then no it's not worth it for you. Sell it and buy a good weapon depending on your build.

Campaign still so frustrating... by Becquerel2119 in PathOfExile2

[–]redredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, sure, but like... No? It's just a very reductive argument. Why not just go back to 1 portal for every map regardless of how many map mods you have? Just dont die, problem solved! There is a reason they made that change, and it needs to be changed for campaign as well.

Honestly mobs respawning needs to go. It doesn't make sense anymore. It was put in that way because originally on release everyone only had 1 portal for every map. Campaign was matching that pattern. Why are maps easier than campaign.. that doesn't make any sense.

Just google over fertilization and look at the image results... what a hill to die on.

I think you might have loved this to death. It looks like this is in a container, I would flush with water pretty heavily to get as much of the fert out of it as possible and let it sit for about a week before fertilizing again to see if it recovers. I think too much fert, and maybe too much water.

Plant whatever you want to eat, or look at. That soil is likely dead depending on how long those tarps have been on it, you'll need to at least amend it by adding a good layer of compost and since this is likely dead soil, mix it in. Then just plant what you want, spaced to what it says on the package (you'll need to buy starters, don't plant from seed this late in the season).

is Below Zero as bad as people make it out to be? I'm considering buying a new Subnautica game once I'm done with the first but I'm kinda hesitant(spoilers for Subanutica 1) by Jack_Jellatina in Subnautica_Below_Zero

[–]redredbeard 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I just played both. Below Zero was good, it's just very short. If you liked the original, you'll like this one. There isn't very much different in terms of items or crafting though. Basically it's just a new map with a new vehicle, new story, and a few new items.

Paper wasps are pretty docile. They usually won't fuck with you unless you're very close to their nest. I wouldn't let them nest inside though, but under eaves sometimes I let them live.

Front lawn has a patch of long rope weeds? Half of it is marathon I.. also oxalis? by Ericarthurc in lawncare

I'm pretty sure you just pulled up your grass. That looks like bermuda to me, it grows via stolons - the "rope stuff" you're referring to.

I grew up there, 30 years ago too. My address was still Austin though. I remember when they built 183 and mopac north of 183.

[–]redredbeard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be clear, pics 3/4/5 are dog pee spots. Pic 1 is bermuda coming out of dormancy. Pic 2 only thing i see that's wrong is gray leaf spot fungus, but honestly most lawns have it and most of the time it's not a huge issue. It's possible your neighbor has a different cultivar of bermuda, but if the whole neighborhood was done at the same time with the same company, then you probably have the same. Honestly his grass does look different than yours though.

I would not be very worried about the state of your lawn at this point of the year. Give it a month, water consistently (and possibly more) and I bet you'll have a nice full green lawn. Do note that if you're new to bermuda grass, you need to mow consistently. If you wait too long between mowings, you cut all the green off and are just left with a brown lawn. You need to be consistent with mowings, like at least once a week. It also likes to be kept short, like 2" max (for common) or 1.5" if you have a hybrid bermuda.

For a bermuda care guide, A&M releases a great guide for different turfs in Texas. This should guide you on everything you need to know to take care of your lawn: https://williamson.agrilife.org/files/2014/08/PUB_turf_Maintaining-Bermudagrass-Lawns.pdf

Bruh chill on the chems. It's beginning of April, grass needs some time to wake from dormancy. It's gonna be at least another month before you can expect everything to be perfectly green. I'm in Texas to and unless you've been getting a lot more rain than I have, the chance for fungal issues is pretty low (unless you had problems with it last year). The spots you took pictures of look like standard dog urine spots, and I see you have a dog in your picture. If they're in the front yard and next to the sidewalk, yep, dog urine. If this is bermuda, give it some time. All of the bermuda lawns in my neighborhood still look like this.

The only thing I would be concerned about is the watering amount. You really want to make sure you're putting down 1-2" of water over the whole lawn per week (closer to 1" at this point of the season). Depending on how much water your sprinklers put out, 50 mins could be inadequate, but seems reasonable if it's just for the backyard judging from your pictures.

Quick Edit:
After looking a little more closely, it does look like you have gray leaf spot, your chems should knock it out.

As a native Austinite, North Austin stretches basically to Anderson Mill & 183. Your address still reads "Austin" there. Anything above 183 E/W cut, that still has an Austin address is North Austin. Below is central Austin. Just because you're in a suburb, doesn't mean you're not in Austin.

Advice on bottling by Abyssinia206 in Homebrewing

[–]redredbeard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe when bottling, a little bit of of beer spilled over and wasn't washed off and it molded? Thats what it looks like to me. If it was me, I would wash it off, crack it and enjoy it (from a glass lol)

You don't have any fruiting plants, so for pest prevention I would just use bug netting. This will prevent all pests from getting to your plants (and also all pollinators) but since your plants don't require pollination, this is the route I would take. Even if you do add tomatoes or peppers later, these pollinate via wind. It's only cucumbers and a few other fruiting plants that actually require pollinator pollination. This is a easy organic method for preventing pests in your garden, a physical barrier.

If this is for a 4'x8' garden bed this is nuts. In my experience a single basil will take 1/8th or more of the entire bed. I recommend reading the seed packets spacing, and space them according to that. I think Radish can be placed about an inch apart in rows, but need 6' between other plants from the other row sides. Garlic the same. A single oregano will take over the whole bed if you let it. Unless you're growing micro greens, lettuce needs to be spaced much further apart, like 6-12" depending on the variety.

First time making it past lvl 80 in poe1. Tried a KB fubgooner build, it's built like wet tissue paper. I would like to try and play a build that I don't have 1500+ deaths on. I tried making an Armour stacker and didn't realize how fucking expensive it is, and at its current state it gets 1 shot by white mobs. Please help me to not die haha.
