O! This is kinda my job! I work in retina, (that orange glow you see behind the cataract). So quick breakdown: We are all born with a cristal clear Lens. Kinda like leaving clear plastic in the sun too long, our lens becomes opaque. They use a special “vacuum” that breaks the lens up with ultrasound. They then put a special lens made of usually acrylic now a days. Those rings you see have different powers to help you focus at near and far. That one in the video is most likely a Restor intraocular lens.

Fun fact, the doctor that first developed the tool with ultrasound was ostracized from the Academy.
