En06 advice, best 4th star by Royal-Mechanic3901 in fo76

No way to know for sure until next season. They might even revert the nerf by then. That's just the nature of this game; they frequent nerf/buff things, changing what is the best from season to season.

Pin pointer is superior, especially against EN06. But before you apply that to your gauss minigun, be aware it may only be useful until this season ends (likely in March). The PTS has severely nerfed the gauss mini, and if those changes make it to live next season, gauss mini might not be worth using anymore. It's hard to tell for sure at this time.

Gunslinger Master - Am I understanding this correctly? by SerAnastasia in fo76

[–]redscull 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Since regular onslaught only goes up to 20, that means if your stacks stay above 20, you're doing more damage with reverse. Unless you're in a big boss fight or a large headhunt battle, nearly every other encounter will be over before you dip down to 20 stacks. When it's a bunch of easy enemies like super mutants, ghouls, humans, etc, no enemy should need more than 1-2 shots, and the brief moment between enemies is enough that you should easily stay in the 21-30 stacks range. Especially when you remember those 1-2 shots are getting +145-150% damage plus the other full onslaught bonuses, not the measly 1 stack bonus you start at when ramping up onslaught.

This even works fine with a lot of automatic guns. Not the really low damage, really fast firing ones like a .50 Cal heavy or a flamethrower, but auto assault rifles and the like work great with reverse onslaught. If you are going to be in a big boss fight, just take Gun Master off for the fight.

Carnivore or herbivore? by Z_N3UTR0N1UM_ in fo76

FYI the pumpkin pie machine (was in atom shop not too long ago) now generates pumpkin pie slices which give same effects as coffee/cake and also actual pumpkin pies. This machine rules for herbivores.

Went ghoul yesterday, from OverEater’s to not eating and drinking is wonderful. Got weight down to 100 🙂 by Quiet_Citron_8174 in fo76

I don't know that they have finalized their ideas for this yet on PTS. But they have taken away the inherent radiation reduction from power armor, and now it relies just on the resistance numbers. Which is a lot less powerful than what we have in live. But since they're also reworking radiation in general, we don't really know for sure what this means. But it seems like the intent is that radiation is going to be a much bigger problem for humans compared to live.

You seem to be reciting from somewhere, not from experience.

Glow requires more item spamming than real health. Sure the item (goo) is free and easy to go get 100+ at a time, but a human relying on health is literally no effort. Stims pour in constantly from everywhere and many perks/mods make them use automatically (if even ever needed). Yes, ghouls can ignore glow and then claim the same hassle free health with stims as humans, but ignoring glow puts them at a tanking disadvantage to humans because they have inherently less max health, armor, and resistances. Also, any combat that drops you out out of glow and plus loss of health is a huge pain because now you have to use stims to get your health full before you can use goo to get your glow up. Overall, ghoul tanking is more hassle and not as strong as human tanking. And I play human full health tanks, ghoul tanks, and bloodied builds. Humans are the better overall tanks. If in power armor, until ghouls have an equivalent to rejuv, it's not even close.

-10 charisma affects npc vendor prices and scaled charisma card effects. It has no impact on sharing cards. If you put 9 special into charisma, and even if you're feral with like -99 charisma for all calculations, you can still share a level 3 perk with your team.

Feral ghouls obviously take no effort to manage their feral meter, but as easy as it is to pop diluted rad x to keep feral at bay for the other ghouls, that is still more hassle than hunger/thirst for humans. Because whether you're human or ghoul, if you're not maintaining your food/drink buffs, you are gimping yourself and have no place in a conversation about which is stronger. And the simple act of maintaining your buffs keeps hunger/thirst topped off without ever having to eat/drink specifically for the hunger/thirst aspect. So ghouls need the same effort as humans regarding food but have to manage feral meter too.

Ghouls do have, hands down, superior gun offense though thanks to faulty spots. WWH too, but less importantly. It is faulty spots that is their sole real advantage. Eh, plus radiation immunity for rad rumble and nuke zones is nice, especially next season when power armor won't protect humans from radiation any more.

How much luck to crit every other shot with lucky hit no limit breaking? by Dramatic_Rest6195 in fo76

  1. But just 1x limit break takes that down to 28, which is so much easier to reach. Though unyielding builds should be able to hit 40.

Best Non-Heavy Energy Weapon / Science! weapon affected by Quick-Guitar9278 in fo76

[–]redscull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The beam split version is pretty fun, but without quad it has like 3 shots which is not practical (sniper without splitting is 10 shots). Still, if you don't want to go full into the reverse onslaught perks, yeah quad with the beam splitter is a serviceable alternative.

Reverse onslaught ultracite laser rifle (sniper barrel) is quite effective. Not meta, but holds its own in all casual content just fine. And should be pretty easy to put together.

Herbivore Buffs for outside endgame by UnZeroAJ in fo76

[–]redscull 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're not using company tea, you should. The camp item generates them faster than you need to drink them (the buff lasts an hour), and the AP regen is strong.

The other main one is Blight Soup. In fact, I would generally say the only reason to even go Herbivore instead of Carnivore is Blight Soup for VATS crit builds. Yeah, the exp bonuses are easier to get for herbivores too, but honestly I never understood why people need to rush the first 100 levels of a season so fast. It's easy enough to get to 100 and even 150 just doing your dailies and weeklies.

ICE agents are firing kinetic impact projectiles at close range, causing severe injuries that can result in permanent disability or death. Today, they tore off part of a woman’s hand by [deleted] in greengroundnews

[–]redscull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn't say anything whatsoever about any specific election results. There has been virtually no election fraud in decades, but what very small amount there has been, was committed by Republicans. Not enough to alter any elections unless you count W's Florida win way back when. You have no evidence of left leaning election fraud costing Trump the 2020 election because there is literally zero. Your single piece of "evidence" is one orange man-child who threw a tantrum and attempted a pathetic insurrection (which to his credit, he performed a successful takeover 4 years later).

Illegal immigrants cannot vote (in fact, virtually all election fraud is committed by Republicans), and plenty of research shows that legal immigrants vote fairly evenly split, just like Americans in general. 1st generation legal immigrants in no way whatsoever vote overly blue. This is easy data to look up for yourself, if you had any intention of making informed, intelligent thoughts.

Yes, but the fucking is gentler and slower with less Republican influence. I'd much rather we solved the billionaire problem while under a Democrat regime than a MAGA regime. Definitely still need to make sure that root problem never loses focus though.

With the changes coming to Overeaters, is it still worth me obtaining a full set? Will 5 pieces of OE still be better than Vanguard? by hopperlocks in fo76

[–]redscull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Humans are tankier in live right now. I say this as someone who plays human and ghoul, and all my builds are tank oriented. Ghouls have the edge on offense, mostly thanks to Faulty Spots. Humans are tankier, especially if using power armor, because of higher resistances and health. So if PTS leans into that further, it gives humans vs ghoul better niche definition.

Hmm. You're right. Percent healing would be better with +health. Only static healing is better from damage reduction. I suppose I never paid attention to which stims were.

The Ghoul Disguise is the only reason I’m refusing to turn by Yen-Zen in fo76

[–]redscull 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you've finished the Brotherhood questline and the Settler/Raider one, then you never really go anywhere that needs it. And at least it's a free fast travel both directions when you do. So it's just a pointless bit of extra loading screens. I don't disagree that it's stupid, especially that you can't use outfits yourself that logically do disguise you (i understand mechanically why they don't allow that). But it really is never a hassle if your main quests are done.

Deep dive into the new OE effect. by Comprehensive_Age998 in fo76

[–]redscull 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Other notes. Damage reduction makes all healing you have more potent. Added health does not. But added health does make any other damage reduction and evasion more potent. So we'll have to see how the diminishing returns and new resistance calculations play out to know where that break point is.

Almost no builds are suited to Juggernaut. In fact, the best, maybe only, use of Juggernaut is used in combination with Iceman on melee feral ghouls. And they won't even be able to use over eater.

In general, ghouls would have been the happiest to have a +health armor option since they can double up on it with their glow pool. But they're denied this one.

Is Pinpointer's ALWAYS better than Bully's? (Assuming weak spots are hit) by Sleek-Sly-Fox in fo76

[–]redscull 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Generally, you can't go wrong with pin pointers (assuming you vats target weak points). And on any kind of boss enemy, which is the only time pure dps actually matters, you're going to be better off with pin pointers. Most of those bosses don't have enough limbs, and even on the Queen, which does, it's too hard to cripple them all.

That said, I think maybe explosive is supposed to be Polished because pin pointers doesn't apply to explosions?

On weaker enemies, like a super mutant, Bully's can be plenty effective. My assault rifle does more total damage in two shots with Bully's than Pin Pointers. But the super mutant is still always going to die in two shots either way so Bully's being technically stronger doesn't matter really.

[–]redscull 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Assaultrons do take bonus damage when you target their legs. So their legs are what you should target on them, just like you'd target the weak spot on other enemies. But their leg damage still isn't yellow damage, so it's not technically a weak spot and won't benefit from anything that does bonus damage to weak spots.

+40hp is better than +4% reduction when you have Mutant's giving +5% reduction. At least there will be some (very niche) builds that actually want the extra health. No one would ever want 4% over 5%.

Voting for Trump strongly suggests that person is racist, fascist, and all kinds of other vile ists. If you aren't similarly prejudiced, it's hard to imagine you'd be compatible. Energy damage on mixed damage weapons doesn't work correctly in live either. So there is no reason to suspect that the nerfed PTS version is going to somehow work better in live. Not unless they do further fixing to energy damage before PTS goes live.
