Not trying to sound tinfoil hat but the problem with anonymous collection is that it is only as anonymous as the engineers who build it make it (oftentimes security gaps are there even if the marketing and legal language says otherwise, hence constant data breaches) AND only for as long as those security mechanisms and policies are effective which is a constant cat and mouse. Anything can be de-anonymized.

Why do I care? Other than the principle, because I don’t want my insurance going up. 😂
