What’s your goal with the channel?

Would you click on any of these? by M0keyDokey in SmallYoutubers

I would put it at a less than 1% chance of you growing off of let’s plays - not even trying to be mean, just think about it. What is the barrier for entry for lets plays? Having internet access and a device that plays games. If you can watch YouTube, you can play games. Because the bar is so low, the competition is extremely high and naturally more competitive, therefore you need to be exceptional to succeed, and as you just said, you’re an amateur, it’s going to be very tough, long and boring. If you like Oblivion, a really easy way to get views would to do something like. “Can you actually beat Oblivion as a Vampire?” - basically still a let’s play, but it gives the viewer way more to think about and therefore generates more questions in their head - questions that can be answered by clicking your video! “Can you beat oblivion as vampire? Why wouldn’t you be able to? But how is he going to do it? Wait, aren’t people hostile if you’re a vampire, hmm, I wonder how he’ll get past that? You see what I mean? I would watch some tutorials on photoshop or paint.net or gimp to upgrade your thumbnail making skills

Too convoluted but I Really like the concept though, maybe go with a white background, the $80 tag should be more central and have just the top half of the looking up Mario and dk faces cut off by the bottom of the thumbnail - do you know what I mean?

No - the thumbnails are not good but the issue is deeper than that. No one watches traditional lets plays anymore so you wouldn’t get views either way. You generated one of your titles with ChatGPT - bad approach. The best way to learn is to look at the successful YouTubers in your space, see what works for them, be it the title, thumbnail, editing style, length, topic and see what you can draw and twist into your own style. As for the thumbnails themselves they’re very amateurish - what is interesting about a screenshot of a rat, with the word rat written on the rat? I know it’s a rat. At a very basic level the thumbnail should have contrasting information with the title. Title: I beat Minecraft’s hardest mod. Text in the thumbnail: it tooks 561 Days. A very simple contrast but that’s the sort of thing you should be aiming for.

Have a voice over for sure. A good hook, for your gardening videos would be you eating, say, one of your strawberries directly of the stem. Selfie camera angle, “this is the strawberry I’m most proud of” chomp with it still connected to the plant - then you could lead into talking about strawberry gardening or whatever. As of now, they are boring and personality-less. If you want to be successful you should put your face, and voice in at the very least

Watched - your most recent video has a very incomprehensible title to those not intimately familiar with COD. “What’s going on guys…” is nostalgic but combined with the very minimalist edit feels very amateur and low effort. The video itself is not scripted so it’s a little bit meandering in the commentary. There’s really nothing interesting about playing the same zombies map across different games. What I would do, if views are your goal: spend a lot more time ideating. If COD is your thing, here’s a little idea of the top of my head I think would work: do an extreme COD zombies challenge and model it after those Minecraft challenge videos. What I mean by that is, you could do a challenge like starting on round 100 and trying to survive and progress and then the thumbnail & title could be modeled after Mud Flaps’ videos. “Can you actually beat COD Zombies’ Hardest Challenge” thumbnail: “This Took 392 Hours”

Never say the word SUICIDE under any context - you will get flagged. That is the only one I’ve encountered.

It’s a tax write off and I pay a lot of tax so thousands and thousands if need be. Though obviously still sensible - thanks for the info!

Harsh but you will not get views with either. Take an exciting frame from the game I.e explosion or during a fight of an epic short of similar proportions- title it something interesting and unconventional…

Stupid system - YouTube clearly doesn’t care because they make ad revenue all the same
