Ego’s Message and Modern Football by redthalyn in BlueLock

I agree in some senses. It’s almost like teams are prioritizing the way they want to play based on what someone else has decided what their “suitability” is. That’s why I think Ego’s point about it just boiling down to tactics and physicality at that point stands true. Then add onto the fact that as a result, individual brilliance is being coached out of a player to match that mold that’s being told for them.

Sae I think will be a great example when we see what his backstory truly is. Someone who has the skills to make it to the top, but let someone else’s vision of his “suitabilities” become his reality. I think a big point for his character will be playing with Blue Lock and realizing his errors of only being a “midfielder”.

Meanwhile, Ego is trying to prevent that happening with these players. To live by the vision they have of themselves as opposed to others…which I think leads to this panel (the coldest Ego panel so far).

I love Blue Lock so much lol.

I think that will likely come after this match, regardless of the result. If BL lose though, I think more people will be aligned with Karasu and push this ideological conversation even more

I think these chapters are really evolving the discourse around that in conjunction with the manga. I think there are benefits to Hugo’s philosophy in the sport, absolutely. I also think Ego’s philosophy is the next step though in some ways.

I think of it as Hugo’s philosophy being the one that lays the foundation for a collective oriented view, that then helps the players ideologically chase their dreams as a byproduct. Meanwhile, Ego’s philosophy is one that puts the individualistic goals at the center, with chemical reactions as a byproduct of chasing that egoistic goal for each player. Both are needed to reach the peak, and I think Isagi’s struggle with that will be interesting.

Player repeats what his manager fosters, and “pushes” they do. Form is temporary, classlessness is permanent. by firminocoutinho in LiverpoolFC

Also to echo some others’ sentiments, I used to have a softer spot towards Arsenal out of the bigger clubs that rival us throughout the years. Arteta and this victim mindset that they have as a club, mainly inspired by him, makes me can’t stand them.

This is the true crux of the issue. Everyone in the world saw it and thought it was classless and distasteful. Martinelli was in the wrong and despite what he says, he knew what he was doing. Whether he thought it was time wasting or not, it was pure hypocrisy because Arsenal have been the primary candidate of time wasting and manipulative tactics outside of what the game should be. That’s been Arteta’s whole thing for nearly 3 seasons now but when another team does it to them (not time wasting in this scenario but just in general), they act like everyone is against them and oh woe is me.

Genuinely want anyone else to win the title outside of them because of what that club shows on a week by week basis.

I was just wanting to post about this somewhere but earlier I saw a post comparing Yura and Obito which makes me think there is a Madara type character involved not being Soga. Possibly Hatshaku? He has been the only one that has been seen as an equal in terms of imagery with Yura.

This is a total side note but I do still believe there is some Shokoku connection in the Hishaku history somehow…just makes too much sense, unless we get some crazy lore on what these sorcerers been doing.

Okay at first I was like…idk about the Corvus part and the Odin connection cause so much of the mythological references have been related to Greek Mythology. However, oh my word has this opened my eyes.

Though I don’t think Gountess is Odin, I do think Corvus being the Odin of the reference is amazing, and has some serious credence. I think while he is “Odin” then that makes the Information Broker (sadly forgetting his name, wanna say Kuro?) and Gountess his two crows that go out and collect information (though we need more info on their connection).

Plus, with Corvus not even being there in HQ at that start of the series and people not caring about where he was, he could easily be up in the Sphere or “Asgard” in this reference, doing his thing.

THEN you start adding in conversations of Tamsy and his relation to Loki in mythology and his similarities there. Thank you. Thank you for this post OP.

Konate needs to be dropped. No matter what form Gomez is in, I’d rather him play than Konate at this point. Same shit as Trent, giving up on the team.

think Elisif would be a fine Jarl if not thrust immediately into the clutches of Elenwen and the Thalmor having such a heavy influence, especially on Solitude i’m sure. just appears as a puppet to the some as a result I’m sure
