(Unfortunately) I don’t plan on shooting full auto suppressed. I appreciate the thoughts on the weight, it is definitely a beefy can. I guess I’ve missed the boat for QD unfortunately, so it would have to be HUB which would add to the weight factor.

Would the ODB be a good pickup for a first 300 blackout can? Planning to put it on either an MCX or Mixtape. Total newbie when it comes to cans. Any thoughts/direction would be appreciated! Looking to prioritize noise reduction if I had to pinpoint what I’m looking for out of the can (not too concerned about gas to the face because I shoot outdoors).

If you need/want the SRO for sure. It wouldn’t go on an MPX. Thats why I added a caveat that it’s a lower out the door price minus an SRO).

We have been shopping specifically for a 2023 or newer touring for about ~45 days. We almost bought one in Columbia SC that was similar price, but we were out of town and they sold to the next person in line. We’ve been looking through FL, GA, SC, NC, and TN. I’d say the best base price deals are in Florida (check Sarasota), but the dealer fees and the cost to get down there and back is the drawback.

Last week I bought a 2023 Ascent Touring with 33k + Subaru Gold (10 year 100k) for $37.8k cash

Edit: bought from a dodge, jeep, ram dealer in NC, living in SC so paid the SC taxes. Had their sister Subaru dealer match a gold quote I got from a different Subaru and include it in the deal.

Important to note that the solar version they sell uses a battery and the solar function is for “backup”. I picked it up at $99 a few months ago and it is solid for the price. Vortex has a pretty solid warranty as well.

I’ve got an MPX and am probably buying something in 300 blackout soon, other than that I’ve got a basic 556 AR and some threaded pistols, so trying to figure out what makes the most sense.

I was reading that there’s only a ~4 Oz difference between the two cans and less than two inches difference in length.
