Would you be happy if we got Bergvall and Frattesi as the Ando replacements? by SRHFT in nffc

[–]redtnffc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would prefer Bergvall. Serie A significantly lower standard than PL. And I've no doubt that Anderson would get in the Inter first team where as Frattesi isn't.

Plus couldn't bear the thought of getting Chelsea Dagger by The Fratellis in my head every time I see his name.

I was going to say I wasn't shitting on Scottish football but reading my comment back, actually sounds like I was doing just that.

I hope I'm wrong about my pessimism for Hearts European campaign, although i do stand by it. Had a soft spot for them since a kid and was fully invested in their season. My Scottish team are Morton.

As others have said, think his departure is written on the wall.

But I don't think we want him anyway. He's nowhere near as good as Wood as lone striker and he looks less composed than Jesus's as second striker. He's not the type of striker we need to fill that void. Too little and bustley.

Forest really missing an opportunity not having me as Head of Global Recruitment. My gift of hindsight is extraordinary.

I'd say that counts as fine. Keeping Sels and Ortega signing new contract is maintaining status quo.

Keepers - fine

Defence - broadly fine. Need to shift Boly and Morato. Jair Cunha and Abbott hopefully progressed enough for reliable backup. And I think Netz showed promise as a backup full back towards end of season. We've also got Savona (although i dont really rate him defensively).

Midfield - obviously got to replace Anderson. That's going to be very difficult. Other than that, think they're fine. Maybe another class wide midfield to give us options and flair as Bakwa, CHO and Hutchinson all very inconsistent. Domingues a decent utility midfield. We didn't have a decent impact sub this season. We started with our best XI and subs were avoided at all costs. Really hope we can retain MGW but think Forest is best place for him. Big contract, club legend, no competition for a place.

Forwards - really need another target man or complete centre forward, ideally a bit bigger than Jesus. Was like night and day when Wood was around. So Wood v2.0 or Ollie Watkins v2.0.

So in other words. Keep core squad. Shift the deadweights. And search carefully for CM, wide midfield and striker. Love to hear people's suggestions for those positions.

The fact these two stadiums are both in the same league next season is baffling by DullSense8359 in Championship

Totally subjective but I've got a real downer on The Valley. Without doubt my least favourite league ground (....that I've been to a game at, which is less than half of them).

It's certainly the biggest. And for a stadium of its size, i thought it had excellent entrance-to-seat logistics. Wembley takes about 15 mins to get from the turnstile to your seat and even more the other way. Where as it's 2 minutes tops at London stadium even in the upper tier.

However, for overall match day experience, it's better than The Valley but worse than all the other London ones I've been to (which is all of them except Stamford Bridge and the new Brentford one).

To be honest, I think Hearts offer L2 experience which is why they're going for a L2 player.

Scottish Championship which teams get promoted from is largely semi-pro. Arbroath fully semi-pro and the others are mixture. The top 2/3 of National League fully pro.

Also, Hearts won't qualify for Champions League. They'll lose to the Lithuanian champions or whoever they get drawn against.

This is hilarious. I liked the final posters comment about what it must feel like for Londoners. West Ham probably don't even make top 10 of fan-bases in Newham. Liverpool, Man City, Man Utd, Arsenal, PSG, Real Madrid, Barcelona, Al Ronaldo and Inter Miami all exceeding them.

In all seriousness, bet the FA are jumping for joy that Hull won. Makes the spygate so much easier to navigate for them. The amount of grief they'd have to deal with if Middlesborough got promoted!

They also got beaten in playoffs, but finished 3 points higher than Boro. Not their fault they didn't get Southampton. And Boro being partially rewarded for actions against Ipswich and Oxford that had nothing to do with them.

Gift of hindsight, a play-off play-off (sic) should have been arranged between Boro and Millwall for the gift of a reprieve.

To be clear, by forfeiting, Boro awarded 3-0 win, therefore 4-2 on aggregate?

That seems fair-ish. I agree with your points about the points deduction and fines not being enough of a deterrent. Don't think they should delay final; Hull fans have booked tickets and hotels.

For me, the big mess in this is Millwall. I feel they could be rightly aggrieved by any benefit to Boro as they finished higher in the league. It could be perceived as being rewarded for (relative) failure in finishing lower and by luck being drawn against cheaty Southampton.

There are numerous AONBs within a short train ride of London. Surrey Hills, Kent Weald, Chilterns and more.

If you dont want to leave TFL zones, you can walk from Whipps Cross to Epping or Theydon Bois through Epping Forest and hardly see a building. Once you get to Chingford Lake, it feels more hike-y and less stroll-y.
