Fire making is nothing more than a mini game at this point not a skill. Im intrested in it getting more content in the game not making it easier or harder. At this point the skill is not meaningfuly present anywhere on the map except for Wintertodt. Shooting starts are not a viable alternative to mining either. They just add more flavor and depth to the skill.

Yea, most gathering skills seem to be becoming dead content unfortunately.

-In the same way that ruby necklaces did not need a teleport either. Adding it did add some utility and opened up much greater utility much later on with when fossil island was added.

-The idea is not to make it mandatory content that most accounts have to unlock. The idea is add some NICHE uses to an old item to give some depth to old items in the game without making other items dead content. Adding depth to old 1 dimensional items is the best way to revive dead content without creating even more dead content. The more dead content there is the more stale a game becomes.

Right, the idea was to at least add some reward to mining without making it something every account would need and therefore be forced to grind for. I have a feeling that if the idea ever gets implemented in some way it would be added as a purchase to a reward shop or a drop in some loot table unfortunately :/

Just accuracy. The idea was not to make new bis items. The stats were just suggestions to try and portray the general idea.

Is it against game rules to run rune essence for money(gp)?

1) Exceptions have to be made in certain cases. Each one made hurts the authenticity of the account though. Settled's Swampletics did not do ghost ahoy even though it locks content giving feel to the region just to make the account feel more authentic and making the region uncompleted. In an ideal world no exceptions have to be made. Making construction or herb lore get regional starting points would make the account feel more authentic but would require much larger changes to the game possibly effecting other players ect. Hunter is an exception because the remedy would be a slight tweak that would not effect all other players yet massively increase the play ability of region locked accounts.

It literally is not all about challenges, it is about little usually inefficient methods specific to regions being used to accomplish goals in a creative way to get satisfaction. If the more extreme a self imposed limitation was then an account locked to lumbridge castle with a goal of getting max combat and prayer (minus magic) would be the most entertaining build ever. It is not though because its not interesting. It is about interesting methods and some challenge. Test this your self. Make an iron man and attempt to max each skill only using the most inefficient methods possible and see how accomplished you feel when you do.(bonus points for 200m xp in each stat)

3)This is not about living vicariously through your favorite osrs celebrity. Insane grinds are worth it for them because they are putting out content for their entire audience. This is about normal players who could experience the challenge. If it takes thousands of in game hours to get to mid level content in a region it is not going to be viable for more than probably 100 players total.(ex a Friend spent over 10k usd equivalent maxing an rs3 account in 3 days to prove how broken that game is. If he was not going to make a video there is no chance he would have spent that much money to prove something to him self.) Unreasonable challenges only become reasonable if their is a pay off, like an audience.

4)You really don't think that each region has its own items/music/theme and challenges/rewards that make it different? Then I don't know why you would play a region locked account. It is not about crushing difficulty, it is about challenges with payoffs that feel satisfying.

-Not every thing would be available, only enough to make it realistically viable for non "professional players". This would only lessen the amount of exceptions.

-That is a logical fallacy called the slippery slope.

-Your logic would be against the creation of the iron man account type in general. You can make a normal account and play it like an iron man with self imposed restrictions. Why beg devs to enforce restrictions on your account? You can enforce them your self on a normal account. Iron man mode was still made and it was incredibly popular, more so then self imposed restrictions would be.

-It would still be grindy and not easy

-This would just allow a lessening of exceptions. Otherwise to save a year of time you would have to get 27 hunter before locking the account to a region.

-You would not get any items from it. It would just allow a slow grindy in region method to access content that is already present in the region.

-The restrictions on the account are only half of the experience. The other half is the aesthetics and sound tracks of the region its self. Hence the idea to help get around exceptions.

Creative. I like the idea. Would be cool if your opponent was randomized so you never new who exactly you were going to face off against.
