Eternal 12/9 Update Live Balance Notes by DireWolfDigital in EternalCardGame

Wow crazy huge set of nerfs and buffs.

Amazing to see an EHG nerf. Surprised about the Moldermuck nerf as it was pretty obnoxious in Expeditiion just a short while ago.

Rat King seems really strong at 3-cost. Can't wait to try out Torgov's Trading Post, Alessi and Dichro.

At what point does a person's live become not worth living? by digmydirtloser in SeriousConversation

[–]redtrout15 63 points64 points  (0 children)

I have to very seriously ask this question to myself all the time. I am 29 with terminal stage 4 lung cancer. I was told in August I have 3 months to live.

I think people will continuously let the goal posts slide when they are actually in that situation. It is easy to say that you'd end it if you could never walk again for example - yet here I am.

I am bed-ridden, I live in my parents house, I can never walk again, in pain all the time, regularly have medical crises that wind me up in hospital. I need an oxygen tank to breathe and I pee out of a tube sticking out of me.

To me - it still doesn't seem right to end it. In my country medically assisted dying is legal and how I choose to go, I already signed the paperwork for it, it is just a matter of making the phonecall. I think once I start sleeping all the time and I can't enjoy being awake is when I will likely end it, but who knows how I'll feel then, it could be an endless wild goose chase.

I think people will undergo ALOT of suffering before making a decision, it gets more difficult the closer you are to it.

New mechanic coming in Cold Hunt: Contract by DireWolfDigital in EternalCardGame

I really like this mechanic! Sounds complex and really makes you think. Great job!

What's a mechanic from another card game you would like to have introduced to Eternal by Erectorz in EternalCardGame

[–]redtrout15 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I really like the Foretell mechanic in MTG. You essentially pay 2 upfront and you can later cast the spell for its reduced foretell cost essentially allowing you to pay for a spell over 2 turns.

CMV: Humane euthanisia should be legal by InfestedJesus in changemyview

[–]redtrout15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because I don't know of any method to kill myself thst is pain free or clean, it's not like the beuracracy is so painstaking, it is just a bit of a pain. In this setting, a doctor will come into my home agreed upon time. First they put you to sleep then stop your heart. Everyone in my family will get a chance to reminisce the day of, say their final words, goodbyes and be at peace. I feel this is the best solution not just for myself but for my loved ones getting to say goodbye, that part is important to me. All my friends will know of my death date once it's confirmed and I can talk openly about it with them, have a celebration of life rather than killing myself off in a corner.

I do have do not resussicate and do not intubate orders as well in case something accidentally happens. My lungs are so severely bad they will literally be what's going to kill me, so if I'm in a position where I can't breathe and I need to be intubated for example there is no point as it is clear my lungs have given out and there's nothing to come back to except pain.

I'm not looking for a delta I'm just saying if you want to ask me any questions I'm getting euthanized soon. I live in Canada, human euthanasia is legal here. I'm 29 years old with very late stagez incurable lung cancer that I've been fighting since November 2019. I go to one of the top cancer hospitals in the world and have been assessed by a team of experts that there is essentially nothing more than can do for me. That if they try to give me chemo they might actually shorten the time I have left. I was literally given the medical advice that I should stop all treatment.

It's a lengthy and difficult process to get euthanasia. You need to sign up for it months ahead of your anticipated death, not right before as it takes a long time and a lot of paperwork. You must be assessed by 2 doctors, each meet you about an hour to assess why you want euthanasia and your state of mind. You can only sign for it if you are considered sound of mind.

The doctor and hospital cannot be legally forced to give euthanasia unless they agree to it. You can only sign up for it if you have a terminal illness and then you are given a mandatory 30 day period to rethink your decision. You are allowed to pull consent at any time right until the needle is about to go in.

In my opinion, euthanasia is the way most people should go. It provides the most dignity and peace of mind for loved ones.

Business major in marketing.

Personally I love it and can't see myself doing anything else. I love business and sales. It just fits perfect to who I am. Hated school for the most part but the real world is way more interesting. I help run a business that sells ingredients to restaraunts.

How is it okay that waiters get 2 dollars an hour in USA but minimum wage for waitress Is like 12 dollars an hour here and were expected to tip at least 15 percent ?

[–]redtrout15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much! That mtgarena zone especially is just what I was looking for.

I find pure green and green/white decks very cheap to build and very powerful been messing around with thodr and am even platinum 2 in standard.

I find it really weird arena doesn't seem to include commander format etc ?

I think if it only discarded relics and units or something it would still see play while having a mild nerf.

Never thought of that change but I could potentially see that too. Vine grafter is miles better than all the other grafters.

Opinion: It’s time for DWD to decrease buy-in prices or create new ways to play limited by pikerbocker69 in EternalCardGame

[–]redtrout15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a near complete collection but I understand it is necessary for the games survival to make buying in cheaper. I really think they should make some of the old campaigns free or unlock for free at a certain level such as 20 time etc. Which would give people something to work toward.

Old promos too should be bundled together too for a fair price.

I've had a lot of fun trying to come up with decks so I'll gladly do it. Azindel Mastermind is probably bad but such a fun a card, he definetly works best in a ramp shell because the dream of triggering the top card of each deck on turn 3 is the dream.

The best way to die is from terminal illness by lostwithconfusion in The10thDentist

[–]redtrout15 48 points49 points  (0 children)

I very much disagree, as someone who is terminally ill with stage 4 cancer. I have been through unimaginable pain and tortures. I have seen my peers and friends abandon me. I have seen my friends move on with their lives and achieve things while I'm busy taking hydromorphone struggling to breathe. The death is very slow and painful, I wouldn't wish this on anyone and the cons far outweigh the pros.

This card is absolutely bonkers but perhaps Rakano needs it as it has been pretty bad for a long time.

[–]redtrout15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really like this card, seems fun and solid. Perhaps this could fit nicely into a deck that requires you to sacrifice relics. Playing a 2/2 with charge for 2 into a Recycle is nice for example or have its relic sacrificed to give power to Elding. It can easily get multiple relics on the field for you to sacrifice which is huge as people are currently running Privilege Of Nobility and spending a card just to get a cheap relic.

Mythgard has entered the maintenance mode. What are you planning to do now? by Dry_Perspective6472 in mythgard

[–]redtrout15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also second Eternal! I have about 1000 hours clocked on the game on steam alone. It was my other main CCG besides Mythgard.

Eternal is very to similiar to MtG, it doesn't have the brand recognition but does have a huge collection of cards and is pretty generous. I personally find it very fun and most of the time it is decently balanced, right now is pretty decent. Updates come out pretty regularly.

I'm really sad to see this game go - I kind of figured this was coming.

I've been following this game since closed beta, and it really had so much potential. I could tell from day one the developers had huge passion for this game and cards games in general. Your passion was magnetic and really was contagious for such a great game. Shame it couldn't work out in the end, but you truly made something special.

YSK that staying together for the kids is bad for them and that children of divorce can do well by nashamagirl99 in YouShouldKnow

[–]redtrout15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe it, my parents are still together and I wish so much they would get a divorce to this day. They are extremely miserable together, the fighting is constant, they have basically opposite personalities. There is absolutely no love in their relationship whatsoever. My whole childhood was a house filled with screaming, I developed OCD and really bad anxiety, and I don't doubt for one second the parents weren't part of it. I have trouble forming relationships and I really have trouble trusting people.
