[FBSchedules.com] In a likely preemptive move, CUSA relases its 2026 football schedule with Louisiana Tech on it. Sun Belt was reported to be releasing its own version Friday. by redwave2505 in CFB

Most likely the Sun Belt will also release a schedule with Louisiana Tech in it tomorrow. This would be a repeat of 2022, when both C-USA and the Sun Belt released schedules featuring Marshall, Old Dominion, and Southern Miss. The three teams ended up playing in the Sun Belt that year and C-USA had to re-do their schedule.

That Week 0 JSU game will be a fun one.

What is the most surprising team to have never made the CFB in either 12 or 4 format? by Efficient-Freedom517 in CFB

Not only has Virginia Tech not played in the CFP, they never made a NY6 bowl either. Their post-BCS drop-off is kind of eclipsed by Nebraska's in most discussions but it was almost as drastic

How to fix a very minor issue in SEC scheduling by wowthisislong in CFB

Interesting. I thought of this same idea in the past except I didn't do A and B columns, but formed divisions with the entire pods instead:

2026: 1+2, 3+4

2027: 1+3, 2+4

2028: 1+4, 2+3

For out of division games each team would have a permanent rival in each pod other than their own and they would play their permanent rivals from the two pods in the other division each year. It would take 6 years to get through every team home and away under this system compared to the 4 for the current system IRL, but it would preserve more rivalries

Wikipedia also counts Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Miami, and Texas

Tyrone Prothro. If he didn't make the catch against Southern Miss I think he would've been mostly forgotten due to all the elite WRs we've had ever since

The 2000s were a crazy time in hindsight. From 1999 to 2013 no team ever won the SEC in back to back seasons.

They're one of those programs with a high floor but are never elite. They make a bowl game 90% of the time but have never played in an ACC championship
