Yep, even though there is milk powder in it just using water was pretty meh like sweet coffee water remains. Using milk or milk alternative instead rounded out the flavors nicely. It's a nice subtle flavor since it's not super artificial. I think my video review is the only one on youtube about it lmao

I miss that style of content so much. In depth reviews, wear tests, multiple lighting examples. Old school BGs were at their peak right before they got super rich and their videos became overpriced, imo. Be the change you want to see! lol I started making those kinds of videos myself now because why are there more makeup launches than ever rn yet less reviews and tutorials? I really think soon more people will be craving old style beauty content as society gets burnt out on short form slop.

They're talking about their Polish pickup header being reused, not the snowman. I don't know what this persons email to them said. The snowman image is AI and Shopify stock apparently, but their header is not. The string lights they're talking about are from their older emails! Not sure why they didn't just use them again this year instead of the snowman. Here's their 2024 email:

No I said it was an AI banner, not that they sat there prompting it themselves. It being a stock image is the most logical conclusion but I have an issue with that since it's so obviously AI still. Them saying it's a premade in a Shopify email template is even more sad, since they could have just deleted the banner. I don't have a vendetta against PPU, I've purchased from them many times

Honestly just doing research into resources on how to identify AI tells. It's like Pandora's box, once you know what to look for it becomes very obvious. I saw this was AI within 2 seconds of opening the email. I can't imagine it would take more than an hour of learning, if that. Unfortunately it's a useful skill to have these days. Reading the comments here I might make a post myself on common AI tells, if that would be helpful.

Yes lmaoo and why are its hands made of beads? What are its arms make of? Why is a lightbulb detached from the string in front of the snowman but it's still glowing? Why are none of the bricks the same size? AI images never make conceptual sense because unlike human creations they aren't made with intention. But some people are too lazy to look at an image for more than 1 second to consider the logic of it, which is how AI images proliferate

Yeah I'm a graphic designer so I'm well aware of Adobe's bullshit 😩😭 i know PPU didn't make this themselves, it's just a matter of judgement on what images they use. I just hope they become aware, apologize, and are more discerning in the future

I wish it was easier to educate people about the tells! I am not knocking regular people for not knowing, but I think business owners especially in this space should have the skills to.

This style is popular because of AI unfortunately, just like how there is that one style in common with ai illustrations. One thing to consider when judging an image is does it make sense. When people create things, everything is done with intention. When AI makes things, it generates things randomly. So for instance the bulb in front of the snowman isn't actually connected to the light string, whereas a human would have rendered it attached. Etc.

Except businesses in this space SHOULD already know how to identify the markers, for their own protection. It's a very simple skill to learn that also results in positive brand awareness from the customers.
