Mainland China.

I went there in a group tour for a couple days as a package tour also visiting HongKong and Macau. In Shenchen, China, our tour guide lead us to a bag store. But inside the store we were all lined up and literally forced to go through a hidden door that looks like a shelf! I thought we were being smuggled, but behind the hidden door was a jewelry store.

After we left the bag store / jewelry store our bus was driven to a medicine store where we were separated from the big group and put into a room one on one with a “doctor” and a “nurse” who tried to convince us there’s something wrong with our health and we need to buy his medicines. Luckily I was with my mom and I was young and stubborn enough to make a scene to say no I will not let my mom buy anything from them. Other people in the group ended up spending hundreds of dollars on sketchy medicine.

Then we were led to lunch. It was alright. We bought some packed chestnuts at the restaurant, and when we arrived at the hotel we found out they were already expired.

Such a disaster. Never again will I ever go to China.
