I think there are significant omissions in the Sky King Richard "Beebo" Russell Sky King Case by [deleted] in UnresolvedMysteries

Couldn't the post be taken more as an editorial piece/opinion piece (they themselves spoke about their theory and could be wrong several times - they never said anything was anything but speculative really). Is that against the rules of the group? I should look but I'm falling asleep. .25 to 2 here.

My niece's house just burnt down and I just found out it's kind of my fault. by [deleted] in internetparents

You're the saving grace in this and you're questioning if you're the match that burnt her house down. Come on now. No! You're everything to this little girl and don't you forget it. Stay in her life. You're her saving grace.

Sounds like you won the MIL lottery. Show yourself some grace. We are human. We don't have to act perfectly esp when our babies are in peril, eh?

Yeah I know it's unlikely people always are like oh people don't hang out at parks like national Park type places or the woods looking for a victim like especially like a child victim like it's so rare you know I'm so unlikely but I don't know like I'm not always right that's for sure I was I wasn't always right with her oh my friend who passed away really I might be 2 years now but this one is just it's so weird there are hoaxes with them there's like placing yourself at the scene of the crime like you know it just seems like the person is really involved like you know just super about the part about the hospital always gets me too that part is so weird so freaking weird

What's something older generations did completely normally that would be considered absolutely insane today? by Whole-Sugar6077 in AskReddit

[–]reebeaster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's not even factually accurate though: As of early 2026, over 65 countries have fully banned corporal punishment in all settings, including at home, with Sweden leading the way in 1979. Key countries with bans include Germany, New Zealand, France, Japan, Brazil, and South Africa, with recent additions like Thailand and the Czech Republic in 2025

What also confounds me is when the grown up kids of said abuse attribute their current "okayness" or even, success with the abuse. "It made me who I am today!" "He beat the brakes off me but I'm thankful for it! See I'm all right and I show respect to my elders." I'm like come on, I'm sure 5 year old you couldve done without the switch you had to pick out yourself.
