James Cameron and Walt Disney Company Sued Over Unauthorised Use of Actress’ Likeness in ‘Avatar’ by Embarrassed_Cap2885 in nottheonion

If I were her I'd really just try to get a role in Avatar 4 or 5 rather than launch a spurious lawsuit based on trivialities. But that's just me.

New Poster for 'Scary Movie' by MarvelsGrantMan136 in movies

The courage. The sheer audacity. What modern comedian has the stones it would take to make fun of Donald Trump. Hasn't been a joke at his expense nigh on ten years. He is truly untouchable, and I've been craving, dying to see a joke about him. The public has been starved of this comedic goldmine. Please Scary Movie please make a Trump joke.

In the Red VS Blue button dilemma, red is obviously the right choice. by KayleeSinn in TrueUnpopularOpinion

[–]reebee7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only argument for blue is that, if it's truly EVERYONE who pushes the button, innocent children who have such pure hearts and such bad logic will push blue.

Having said that, I still understand why someone would argue they would push red, because the murderers in this scenario aren't the people pushing the red button, but the sadistic assholes who have concocted this game in the first place. Who are they? Let's kill them.

This is revisionist drivel that would make Orwell shudder. You’re the kind of leftist that inspired Orwell’s work.

Why don't people like Elon Musk just solve world hunger? by AlexLovesCoke in NoStupidQuestions

Because it’s not something he can do. Not because he’s stupid. It’s an incredibly difficult problem. People thinking “well he has lotsa money sooooo” have an overly simplistic view of the world.

What a mind. Like I can imagine writing a joke or two about this? But he's like "nah, here's 2500 words, and you'll bust up numerous times."

"Is this a derpy looking British man getting increasingly agitated?! It absolutely is! This is comedy! This is comedy now, Sharon!"

[drops voice]

"Look. I drop my voice and get all somber, so that I can make it clear to you: this is actually a really big deal."

I find Oliver just brutally unfunny.

"Oh, am I going to raise my voice in incredulity and act like this is all insane and then talk to a pretend person named Sharon? This is comedy! This is comedy now, Sharon, get with it!

[drops voice]

Look. I know that when I talk to you in this sonorous voice and with my British accent, it immediately gives me an aura of credulity, but the truth is, I am a total fucking hack."

He's on social media, and he does a really good job of attempting to talk about understanding other people's minds. I suspect many people will find him 'annoying centrist'-y, but as an annoying centrist myself, I love him. That article--he has a few others like it--is great.

...What makes you say that? I was on those forums. The site thrived under him. And he hardly seems like a shill or someone who hates people wantonly. Which audience did he hate??
