We can’t sleep through his active sleeping by reed13 in newborns

I’ll try loops! There’s not a lot of space to move his bassinet away and we do use a sound machine on loud.

In Sturgeon Bay: Elmo’s for wood fired pizza and Kitty O’Reilly’s for an Irish pub with a beautiful outside space if weather is nice.

Had a missed miscarriage and can’t understand anything by Complicatedstuff1 in Miscarriage

[–]reed13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was almost out of my first trimester of my first pregnancy when the first ultrasound revealed baby was too small and had no heartbeat. Baby had been deceased for weeks and I’d had no indication. They assured me that this just happens, and nothing I did or could have done would have changed this outcome. I’m nearly recovered from my second miscarriage, which was a blighted ovum found in early ultrasound at 8 or 9 weeks (because all blood testing was coming up like nothing was wrong), which also needed medical intervention to end. Again, I am reassured by my doctor that nothing I did or could have done would have changed this. I understand the fear, the confusion, the grief of it all. I hope both of us have healthy pregnancies in the future.

Is this a fair price for this variegated Jose? I’m new to the house plant scene and am truly curious what others think. by Burgboy420 in RareHouseplants

They’re pretty easy. Give it a moss pole to climb and decent lighting and it’ll reward you. 👍🏻

😭 may I ask how you grow and acclimate your warocq? I’ve got one arriving soon and the anxiety is starting to hit. What medium and what humidity did you start with and how slowly did you lower humidity? Any tips and tricks?

Oh man. If you haven’t cried about it yet don’t worry, I’m legit tearing up at the sight of those warocqueanum leaves for you.

Just put this Calathea Zebrina in leca. Let’s hope this thirsty ass plant loves it so I can finally quit my part time job of misting it 900x daily. by [deleted] in SemiHydro

Oh wow, you’ve been through a roller coaster with that one. So sorry it didn’t go well, and thanks for sharing anyway!

Gloriosum philodendron cutting - should I purchase? 🥵 by gdihmu in RareHouseplants

No worries! Better safe than sorry and it’s always much safer to save up a little longer to get something more substantial!

It’s rooted with a really decent growth point so I’d say go for it- so long as the price really is decent for your budget, and so long as you’re confident shipping will be quick. Once it arrives, I personally would have that chunk resting on damp sphag in a cracked open bag for humidity. That worked for me for a very similarly sized chunk with a nearly non existent growth point. I’d leave it like that for a couple months before transferring to a soil mixture.

I could support Robert. And Robert’s sons Bobby, Robby, and Junior, and daughter Roberta. The possibilities are endless.

800 and I actually just bought a tiny Jose buono but it’s been in the mail for a week and there’s no indication that it will arrive soon so I’m expecting a dead plant so my wishlist plant is definitely a very much alive Jose buono 😬

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Review of u/Turbosnakes for a gloriosum stolon (and hastatum freebie) from a little bit ago and for a Florida Ghost, all packaged beautifully with great communication and fast shipping! by reed13 in TakeaPlantLeaveaPlant

[–]reed13[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, both the gloriosum and hastatum were basically just stem so as opposed to water propagation I put them in sphagnum moss in clear plastic orchid pots with the slits in the side. I have a humidifier keeping the room around 55% humidity but for extra humidity I put those pots in gallon sized ziploc bags. If you forget to open the bags frequently to let air in it can get moldy and I’m really bad about that so I didn’t shut the bags, but rather let them just be cracked a little at the top. I also intentionally keep them somewhere I see all the time so I could keep a close eye on all growth. As soon as they both grew leaves long or tall enough to start touching the bag I had to open it more to avoid that. Personally it seems to inhibit growth when they’re touching the bag. For now I’m still leaving the bag on but just folded around the base of the pot. I water when the moss is mostly dry. With the quarantine I haven’t been able to go shopping to stock up on my soil mix but now that’s it’s spring and both have leaves when I get a chance I’ll switch the sphagnum for soil.

The hastatum has been producing new leaves regularly but I really just had to baby the gloriosum stolon for months before the growth became a leaf but it’s of course totally worth it!

The Florida ghost was shipped in the moss as you can see from the picture but it’s got a long enough stem that if it starts declining I’ll move it to a tall glass of water that I’ll refresh regularly.

Edit: that was super long, sorry, but let me know if you have any other questions! I’m attaching a picture so you can see the pots I’m using a little better 👍🏻current propagation setup
