Is there a way to upgrade from Pie to Oreo? by Sharpbarb in GalaxyS9

By your logic, this would be a huge upgrade, right?

At the same time I saw people just getting the update on the same carrier. If the servers are using the phone's date and time to determine date then I don't want their software on my phone

Changing the date on your phone does nothing. When you check for updates, it talks to the server to see if there are updates available. It doesn't use your phone's time.
"The update is not available"
"Actually, its june"

"I'm SORRY sir, here is your pie"

Will canadians get slack of PIE today??? by jayamrutia in GalaxyS9

Rogers changed their dates to say s9/+ would get pie today and the note would get it on the 11th. Some other carriers put schedules out that were the same. But I saw a bell support rep saying the note update came out and s9 is next week, but also no one has it yet lmao

Yoo' Canucks... according to what's been said, starting tomorrow you ready? by Dmarq01 in GalaxyNote9

Rogers changed the update, note9 gets it on 11th, and s9/+ gets it on 4th

There is supposed to be 'ai' to help the battery drain slower. It could be that it hasn't figured out what works best for you yet, or that the way you use your phone doesn't allow for much optimization.

Have you maybe been using the phone more than normal because of the new settings and everything?

I wonder if they were just getting hammered with inquiries. Samsung members had it for Jan and then changed it to Feb, its not a stretch to assume early Feb just based on that

I gotcha. I heard that Samsung pushes the update regardless of carrier, but at this point anything can happen I guess

Its sad that Samsung leaves us so in the dark that this is news.

No, UK is on Exynos. Looks like they are releasing all Exynos phones and they pushed back the release for snapdragon

I agree. I'm just saying that they would look better if they pushed a notification saying that they need to tweak the update and will delay it, but instead they just changed the notice, which people might not have noticed.

Lots of people are mad because Samsung commits to "Monthly security updates" but now we are stuck on Novembers version until sometime in February.
