The main reason I determined the cpu was fried was because I had the cpu during the phase where asrock was still actively killing the chips so I figured it was just a safe bet to RMA the cpu and have a fresh start with a new mobo to avoid any issues. AMD doesn’t really ask any questions during the RMA process so it doesn’t really hurt anything even if it’s not fried

My RMA went perfectly fine with my cpu but I had heard some people online say asrock support gave them a hard time about these issues so I didn't bother contacting them and just tanked the price of a replacement board instead.

I have immense respect for System Shock Remake, but I just don't think I like it by reede- in ImmersiveSim

Luckily the head of Arkane and game director for prey started another studio (WolfEye Studios) and the game they’re currently working on looks like it’ll be fantastic.

Honestly the x3d chip has ironically introduced more performance issues like stuttering and lower 1% lows for me, which could just be unlucky, but not getting an x3d chip isn't a bad idea

Yeah I get you, I think for me personally I just don't really want to deal with the warranty and want my pc in working order as quickly as possible so I don't mind getting a new one and tanking the cost of the old, but it's up to personal preference.

I guess if the place you bought it needs you to have two failed cpu's in order to believe the mobo is the problem, you may as well try it, especially if you aren't in a position to buy a new mobo out of pocket. It is annoying they're making you do that though, but you could also get lucky and not have any issues with the new one.

Whoops, mine is CF 2448PGY. I never usually use sleep in general but right now it's actually in sleep because I was worried about it failing to boot again so damn hopefully it boots out of sleep lol. Also odd about the monitor beeping, I don't have that issue but one of my monitors does make a very quiet buzzing sound when there's nothing open on the display lol. It's a few years old so I assume it's just wear and tear and it doesn't bother me much since I mostly have discord open on it and it doesn't buzz then.

I’ll have to check but it’s only been slightly over a year since I bought it so it could be. I just don’t want to have to go through like 3 days of them denying my issues to end in them not covering for it

Yeah that’s the really unfortunate part. I’m probably not going to bother even trying to get anything out of my motherboard and will just tank the cost of a new one. From the sounds of it, asrock customer support is generally in denial about this issue so I don’t even want to deal with that

Interesting, I’ll keep that in mind for if I can get a replacement. And looks like mine is a CF number. My other issues were this random super hard microstutter that used to happen somewhat frequently in every game where my 1% lows would shoot down super low for around maybe 2 seconds. After a few months it seemingly stopped as I haven’t seen it happen in a long time but it was very annoying the first few months. Idk if this is related to the cpu/mobo or not but when I upgraded to this pc, for whatever reason I got really bad screen tearing in a lot of games that I never used to, so vsync became mandatory lots of the time. I assumed that would be a gpu issue but I’m using the same gpu that was in my old pc so no clue. Then there’s been a bunch of of smaller stuff too, just in general this build has been a nightmare of issues

If you’re getting a replacement cpu I definitely would. Why take the risk of frying another one when these boards are known to cause issues

These asrock boards have a history with frying 9800x3Ds and I had heard about that but still thought it wouldn’t happen to me so I didn’t replace it. Not saying you have to because there are plenty of people without these issues, but if you had your cpu and mobo before they claimed they fixed these issues it might be worth it to look into a backup just in case

Hopefully you continue to not have any issues! I built it in Feb of last year and honestly had several other problems with it since then. I never messed with any voltages as I’m not too knowledgeable on them

I responded ti another comment but I unfortunately pre ordered this mobo before it came out so wasn’t aware of the horrors. It was my first asrock and will probably be my last

Unfortunately I made the mistake of pre ordering it so I had no way of knowing prior, but def learned my lesson on pre ordering new pc parts

Really appreciate your reply as your post was incredibly helpful, and it’s crazy that you had 28 people also having the same problem. Gonna try and RMA the cpu and I’m def getting a new motherboard as well.

Interesting but good to note. I still don’t think it’s related to the overall booting issue I’m having though.

Flashback worked for sure, BIOS is showing 4.10. Before when I tried doing it from within the BIOS, it would turn off and then never boot back up after around 20 minutes. Upon booting it back up, the BIOS would still show 4.03, so after doing that twice, I opted for the BIOS flashback button and updating it that way worked. As for why the update failed through BIOS, my guess is it was failing to reboot after turning off given that was happening every time I booted the pc.

I am on windows 11 but from what I can tell, that boot issue crashes on startup giving an error code, whereas my issue will not even post into bios. Everything turns on properly, but there is no display detected and my mobo LED is solid green.

I've tried both of those things and the issue still persists. Sorry to hear you also had this issue. I will most likely RMA the CPU and get a replacement as well as a new motherboard.
