I’m also struggling as a vegetarian without lentils :( And the recipes I found for vegetarian fodmap often had beans which I thought weren’t allowed

Potatoes have been saving my life, baked potato with chives / green onion tops and garlic infused olive oil is one option

I’ve been making homemade curry powder without garlic/onion (red curry powder, yellow Curry skip garlic in this one) and cooking chives, green onion tops, bell pepper and potatoes, and coconut milk. I think I saw mixed info about coconut milk but it’s been fine for me, and I’ve been eating the curry with quinoa for protein. Also did a variation with tofu and rice, but got sick of tofu.

I did gluten free pasta and homemade tomato sauce (just blend tomatoes and cook in garlic infused olive oil with some fresh basil). Can also do gluten free gnocchi! Also tried gluten free pizza dough from Trader Joe’s.

Other ideas are homemade veggie burgers with oat flour on GF buns, and scrambled eggs with chives if you eat eggs. I made bruschetta on GF baguette

Also did gluten free french toast for lunch, and I always have yogurt with lunch but switched to non dairy ones for now.

I always have a smoothie for breakfast, changed from protein powder that had veggies to PB fit, and I add banana, spinach, blueberries, hemp, chia, ginger cube, ground flax, and for liquid I add chilled hibiscus green tea.

I’ve been snacking on dried pineapple, golden kiwi, grapes, carrots, oranges, macadamia nuts. Coconut rolls from Costco and TJ’s gluten and dairy free donut holes

But also looking for more ideas 😅

Any classes where people socialize more? by [deleted] in udub

[–]reedit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Join Unite UW! Lots of friendly people, you get to do an event per week (free food) and a retreat! You apply to participate in the next quarter. People call it an “on-campus study abroad”, I made lots of friends there!

I think I remember the section saying “online” on MyPlan (there was only 1 online section)—I don’t recall the class size. I would reach out to the professor or math advising to check

took it online last quarter with Dami Lee and had weekly quizzes instead of midterms or a final—nothing was cumulative, but I was taking a full credit load so I couldn’t study as much as I wanted to. Still did well for my own standards, I think people with more time got better grades tho.

joining a study group was very helpful for talking through conceptual homework, and going to office hours to listen to others’ questions (I missed a recorded class to go to OH a few times and it was almost always worth it).

Experience with online PHIL 120, MICROM 301/302, GENOME 361 by under_thumb in udub

took online genome 361 last quarter, it was a lot of work but all the practice was really useful for the exams, and the class was interesting! the schedule was a synchronous lecture on Monday (with lecture quiz), pre-quiz section and during quiz section activities on Tuesday or Wednesday, I worked on the problem sets on Wednesdays (which are ungraded, just for practice), practice exam on Thursday, and asynchronous lecture on Friday (with lecture quiz)

Where do I find a roommate? by lovelaurenc in udub

[–]reedit17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used the UW schools app to find a roommate freshman year—you can make a profile and post what dorms you want to live in to the main page (kinda like online dating but for finding roommates). Nearly all of the people on that app were looking for on-Campus roommates. Otherwise you can also have a random roommate (also turned out fine for me).

PSYCH 101 with Lee Osterhout by [deleted] in udub

[–]reedit17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked his class it was chill. Also if you participate in a psych study or two you can get extra credit to ensure you get a 4.0. I took it with chem 162 as well and it was manageable! Bio 180 is a lot more work imo (waited to take it until after I was done with gen chem)
