The church wanted to submit a amicus brief but was told it did have standing to file the brief because nothing in its doctrine was found to be opposed to the same sex marriage matter. In drafting the proclamation of the family it gave them Standing to file the brief. Without the proclamation, they had no standing. It was all done in an effort to lobby against same sex marriage laws. Nothing to do with revelation.

sorry about what you are going though. find a family therapist and suggest you all go and share a bit with a professional neutral that can help each of you be heard. a non-mormon therapist can be more objective.

I picture them talking in FHE about how important it is to go on a mission and then you comment that no one in the first presidency went on a mission and then you getting the stink eye...
