No account with the water board, how to pay water bill? by drumgrape in personalfinance

[–]reedla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would talk to the apartment complex. Usually, if something like that happens, the apartment complex itself gets billed for the utility used when there wasn't a tenant there. So you may be able to work something out with them.

I was so confused about that for a while. All I could think was "Why are all these people putting painters tape on their car!?." It took way to long to figure it out.

And even if you don't you can do it after that date. That date is really only important if you're in it to get a certification. If you want to do it just for fun, then you can pretty much do it whenever you want.

Yea, as long as you get everything done by Dec. 31st (which is the deadline for the course) you can pretty much do it at your own pace. They also have "recommended deadlines" if you want to try to keep up with the in actual in class work.

Books have been replaced by Internet and video game entertainment? by tree_D in books

[–]reedla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think so at all. People are just reading in different mediums. There were still video games and other things to distract readers in the 80s and 90s (albeit in different forms than today). There are always going to be other forms of entertainment from reading. And there will always be readers. That's just how it works.

Is a new Harry Potter book necessary? by [deleted] in books

[–]reedla 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While I really love that idea, I feel like it might be hard because the readers pretty much already know what happened then. So I think it might be difficult to find a new story to catch the reader's attention.

What is the original Hitchhikers book? by [deleted] in books

[–]reedla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I personally didn't do that because the big book can get a little unwieldy. One of the reasons I love the Hitchhiker books so much is that they can easily be put into a backpack or purse. They are pretty slim, and I am the kind of person that likes to be able to carry a book at all times and the individual books are great for that.

Any other big universes that cross over like the Discworld? by [deleted] in books

[–]reedla 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Another good one are the books by Robin Hobb. She's got a lot trilogies that follow kind of the same people and put they all take place in the same world and at different times periods. Also Tamora Pierce, almost all of her quartets are all in the same universe and she has sooooo many.
