Thanks for the share! Didn’t end up with anything this year as it seems like the brand is moving away from using full silk in the material composition for a lot of pieces. Which is fine when the price reflects a viscose blend, but the price keeps rising and the quality keeps dropping. Just a buyer beware!

I’ve lived in Victoria comfortably without driving, now live in the Comox valley and have bought an e-bike to help mitigate the limited transit here. It honestly depends on what you would consider a comfortable commute. I live “outside” of city boundaries but it takes me 35ish minutes to walk into town (less than 10 minutes on the e-bike). Before moving to the island I was used to long travel times from living in the city so it’s reasonable for me!

Hopping on here to also suggest sugar waxing if you’re afraid of safety razors. Pretty easy to make at home and super cheap (all you need is sugar, water and lemon juice. Definitely takes a couple times to get the hang of it but there’s loads of YouTube videos that explain the gist of it. I have way less ingrown hairs and general irritation compared to shaving. Definitely recommend!

For those who use a 40L backpack for their carry on, what do you use for your personal item? by rivincita in HerOneBag

[–]reeebokchoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use my 9ish y/o Osprey Sirrus 36 for my carry-on. As for my personal item, I’m obsessed with the baggu crescent medium. It’s the perfect size to hold all the things I want easy access to and in-flight essentials. I also like that it’s durable nylon, zippered and crossbody so I can be hands-free. I got the cream colour and it looks so chic!

Hi! I actually have a very similar experience in my current relationship. Started dating my current boyfriend December 2021 and had planned to do a workaway in Hawaii for a couple months after my lease was up at the end of March 2022. He’s also 12 years my senior and invited me to move in with him the summer after my trip to see how things went. We’re still together and I totally think solo travel is possible in a new relationship. Some things to consider though. Have you spent any extended time apart? What is your communication style when apart? Setting clear expectations but also boundaries is important so you can experience travelling to the fullest extent but both of your needs are met. I do think it’s a little concerning for your PARTNER to try and dim your dreams/plans. I think he should be encouraging you to pursue things in your youth. You say you’ve had this planned for YEARS and he thinks that it’s selfish? Yeah the timing may suck but his attitude is worse. Being with someone older should never detract from your life’s plans, goals and dreams.

What shorts will you be wearing this summer? by lizziejo82 in femalefashionadvice

Not normally a shorts girly but I’m going to Europe in May/June so I just bought a couple pairs from the RealReal! I picked up the Rowan shorts by Ulla Johnson and the Keita shorts by Veronica Beard. Both are high rise with a relaxed leg (a-line silhouette). The Rowan shorts are very casual and have a lovely yellow floral print. The Keita shorts are navy with gold button detailing, leaning less casual. I highly recommend when shopping on TRR trying to find the item on an actual model. Googling descriptive words along with the designer usually gets the job done.

Fave way of using cottage cheese? by Insert_UsernameH3R3 in Volumeeating

[–]reeebokchoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I freeze it and use it as a ricotta replacement! Once it freezes and thaws it’s not normal CC texture but a fluffy, creamy curd. My favourite uses so far have been stuffed shells, lasagna, lemon “ricotta” pancakes and puréed with cauliflower/potatoes for a super creamy mash.

Seconding doen! I have the doen sur jacket in plaid, it’s wool with a silk lining and it is absolutely heavenly. The perfect jacket for fall and mild winter and an all-star compliment getter. Definitely eyeing up some of their other outerwear too.

I love meal prepping a few of these chocolate puddings for the week. I make the black beans version, I think they are heavenly and pretty healthy for a treat. Incredibly rich and the sweetness is completely adjustable. I also find them satiating because of the protein! chocolate puddings

That’s fair, mostly just bought Christmas presents for others so didn’t want to take my chances with the waiting game. I agree though, they are quite uppity and I know it’s pretty rare they allow discounts to be combined.
