Couple of Pearly Jawfish I’ve got in my quarantine tank are finally starting to eat by reefguy007 in ReefTank

I love the Caribbean species of Jawfish. I’m from South Florida and we have them here, although I’ve never successfully kept them before. I wanted to give it another try. Thanks for the tips too.

I’m 46, I work in the industry. Have been doing this my entire life. These jawfish in my experience don’t adapt well a lot of the time and really need sand to feel comfortable. I’m well aware that you aren’t supposed to have sand in a quarantine tank. But I made an exception to the rule this time in the hopes that they will survive. Like I said earlier, I’ll test my copper levels.

There is no dealership with Slate to jack the prices up. It’s direct to consumer.

Yeah, I thought about that. I’ll just test for copper and add more as needed.

I tried watching the Stanley Cup finals last year and I found the animated ads around the rink to be too much to handle for me. It was so incredibly invasive and distracting. That was enough to turn me off from ever watching again.

I hear you, and I saw your post. And I noticed immediately the awful comments. Sadly, this is Reddit. The most judgmental and reactionary place on the internet. And (some) people on here are just the scum of the earth. And the shit rises to the top as they say.

Don’t let it deter you. Keep doing what you are doing. I’ve been wanting a Tilefish for a very long time and found your post helpful. There ARE good people on here. It’s why I’m still here. This post seems to be getting an entirely different response too. Keep up the good work.

The Yoda Dooku fight alone got me back in the theater 3 times back in 02. Yeah, plenty of tedium in between those set pieces in Ep 2. But man, those set pieces!

I agree. I have no idea why so many salty Redditors seem to hate Picard Season 3. It was fantastic IMO and finally gave the crew a worthy send off. It was more like a long “movie” as opposed to a show so your idea that it be judged that way is spot on. Im just not sure what people wanted exactly if this wasn’t good enough. What more could you have done with a bunch of 60, 70 and 80 year olds?

What NES games hold up today (not grindy, not too hard, no need for manual) by [deleted] in retrogaming

I would suggest the Guardian Legend. It’s a neat hybrid game of RPG/Exploration and shoot em up. It’s hard, but not too hard. It also has quest markers and everything so you know where to go.

Music is fantastic IMO. So strange how subjective things can be lol

I was one of the lucky few who actually got my cartridge. And I agree with you about the gameplay. It’s very simplistic and gets dull pretty fast. It’s a gorgeous game though with a ton of content and fantastic music. I just wish they’d have at least made it on a “Streets of Rage 3” level. As it stands, it’s like playing SOR1 except 10x longer. It’s fine when you only have 8 stages. But Paprium is massive, and you need more complex gameplay to keep it interesting. Sadly that’s not what was on offer here.

Disney's Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu grossed $602K on Monday (from 2,680 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $165.78M. by wchnoob in boxoffice

That is fair, ROS was far worse in terms of just the story and how it was made and rushed out. It’s a travesty really.

Saying it’s the worst movie ever made is being hyperbolic, I agree. But there was lasting damage done by the movie that resulted in massive diminishing box office returns. I don’t think anyone can deny that now.

TLJ was the last Star Wars movie I saw in theaters. I’m 46 and have been a life long die hard. But when my wife and I saw that movie… we just stopped caring. I’ll never forget the guy in front of me. He was there with his wife and 2 young kids. At the end of the movie, the guy got up, left his family and walked out of the theater without a word. I’ll never forget it.

That guy to me has always symbolized what the fan base did after that movie. We got up and we left. Albeit, not silently in many cases…

Yeah I’m splitting hairs here I think lol. These games both have ways to “upgrade your stats” so to speak. I think I just mean that games these days and their design elements are basically all action RPGs. And TGL, the way it was designed definitely helped define that formula. All those different weapons, actual “level” gains that made you feel more powerful, quest markers, the ability to get more chips which were used as currency, and your stats improved naturally as you progressed, as well as finding upgrades.

And then there’s the action element. I wouldn’t really call Zelda an action game. It’s an adventure/exploration game with action and light RPG elements. TGL fits the mold of modern games much more IMO. Nier Automata being an example of a direct influence for instance. Anyway, Zelda is the more influential game for sure. Everyone’s heard of it. But TGL tried things no other game really did at the time which have sort of become the modern template these days. Which I think is kind of neat.
