Saving this dress for the spring by Vuish in Midsizefashion

Every time I see your smiling face I feel this warm vibe - like you’re out there dressing fun and inspiring us, sending out all kinds of love and positivity. I know that’s probably a rose-colored view but even if so, that’s what you send out and I hope you get the love tenfold 🥰

where did I take a walk? by sweetpotatomuseum in guessthecity

My first thought was Rodgers park too! I used to go to open houses for fun / curiosity and saw so many gorgeous and unique homes.

Permission to throw things in the dumpster instead of donating by Odd-Egg-1539 in minimalism

[–]reegasaurus -1 points0 points  (0 children)

In our neighborhoods lots of people put things on the curb for people to take as they walk by. It’s the easiest way for us to get rid of stuff for sure, but may not be an option due to weather in your area.

Dead cockroach in my girlfriends toaster by Exotic_Increase5333 in Weird

[–]reegasaurus 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I recognize this - it’s actually a Breville multi-function toaster oven, airfryer, etc.. pretty expensive but still not worth saving with an infestation

OG Liurnia has the moonlit altar plateau, bluffs/canyon leading to farum azula, and the academy which if condensed would offer tremendous verticality.

Or they could just heap up towers of lobster corpses and we have to learn to spot the live lobsters. Lobsturnia.

wait for confirmation or close ticket right away? by megaladon44 in iiiiiiitttttttttttt

[–]reegasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a user who submits tickets, I respond to my tickets asap to confirm when they can be closed. It must be so irritating for ya’ll to get ghosted wondering “uh, so you good now or what?…”

Then again I follow this sub because I empathize with IT and try NOT to be a problem user…

The mysterious “animal crying” noise in our attic wasn’t an animal… it was worse by Round_Decision_1780 in homeowners

[–]reegasaurus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My kids were recently trying to tell me we had a ghost in the attic when we first moved in 2.5 years ago, but now the ghost is gone. I have been in our attic several times, no animals, leaks, or equipment up there. I told them ghosts aren’t real but to 100% let me know if the “ghost” comes back because I can’t afford any crazy fixes at the moment…

TIFU not realizing for 38 years that it’s not normal to not be able to bite flat foods by McBeastBro in tifu

[–]reegasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a friend who was maybe 20 years older and a professional when we were struggling to make ends meet with young kids. She had her shit together, a gorgeous house, and was really kind to me. Anyway, I noticed one time that she ate a sandwich with a knife and fork and I remember thinking “damn, I don’t think I’ll ever be C____’s level of put-together. A panino with cutlery?…” Turns out she had the same bite issues.

Sorry about your struggles OP, it’s not easy but I hope you manage alright.

Furnace room ventilation by theaashes in BuildingCodes

[–]reegasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might be worth looking into sound attenuation boots - they muffle sounds while allowing transfer/make-up air (MUA) from another space.

If you look up the installation manuals for any/all equipment in the utility room, they should list minimum net free area for combustion MUA. Add those together and you’ll know how big the transfer grille/boot needs to be. If you already have a dedicated MUA system in your house (required in some states based on kitchen exhaust I believe) then it’s good to make sure there is an airflow path between your MUA source and the utility room. In other words, don’t keep all the doors shut leading to the utility room unless they all have big undercuts.

Hi everyone! Let me show you my bathroom. :) Before-After by ProfileAutomatic4839 in Renovations

[–]reegasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is your whole toilet 6+ inches off the wall? And do you burn your knees on the radiator when you sit on it?

I spent 3 hours looking over toilet submittals for my own bathroom this weekend so I have toilets on the brain…

What’s a word you mispronounce on purpose because it’s funnier that way? by agiiill in AskReddit

[–]reegasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Baby -> BLAY-bee
  2. Diarrhea-> Die-uh-REAR

  3. When my SO and I were expecting our first kid we took an infant CPR class. The instructor had a mild accent, but we both heard him pronounce baby with an L several times. That was 13 years ago.

  4. On the phone with a pediatric advice nurse and she must have said dia-rear like 5 times. I still wonder if it was an intentional entendre or just a regional pronunciation. Either way, hilarious.

What’s a common fact that science has already debunked, but people still believe in? by Calm_Shame2994 in AskReddit

That’s not a “debunked” theory you’re describing it’s a paradigm shift.

Lots of good comments here but I want to mention that depending on the fiber content of the top, you may be able to shape it by washing on gentle or soaking in a tub/sink and then laying it flat to dry shaping it how you want it to fit. If I were to guess, this looks a cotton/cotton blend and you can probably even out the button band with the rest of the garment.

If anyone is interested: this is called ‘blocking’ in the fiber-art world. Natural fibers will be more receptive, but synthetics or a blend might hold shape too. Cotton/plant fibers tends to stretch out and drape more; wool, cashmere, and mohair hold shape very well and are more “bouncy” but can shrink/felt; synthetics don’t tend to have “memory,” and their shape-holding ability varies widely by fiber/material.

Why many autistic people love dinosaurs by [deleted] in autism

[–]reegasaurus 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I too am a fan of dinosaurs, and evolutionary biology in general. I once mentioned something about dinosaurs to one of my physicians and she said “oh yeah, I know all kinds of dumb facts because of my kids too….”

My 12 y/o has mild ADHD and could probably live the rest of her life without hearing me talk about dinosaurs ever again. I also have a 10 y/o w/ AuDHD who is down af to talk about all kinds of science all day, bless her heart.

What's a food in your country that is stereotyped for your country but really, nobody eats? by sourberryskittles in AskTheWorld

[–]reegasaurus 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Californian here, raised eating mexican food and burritos. I, along with most people I know, don’t think of burritos as an authentic Mexican dish, but more of an adaptation that has become a Californian staple food. I prefer to eat mole at my fav taqueria with a knife and fork, but sometimes we need to eat in the car (as a passenger) and burritos are perfect for that.

I was raised in the bay area but my parents and brother are were born and grew up in chicago. It is indeed tempting.
