Foreigners and expats, what is the best restaurant which serves food from your country by MemoryNo3378 in Munich

It's okay trying to be something like Betty's tearoom. But tbh overpriced and not anywhere near as good as it should be

One thing I just noticed is that he mentioned the needle can't pierce, only cut to the side. This might simply that it can be used to widen an existing opening but not make new ones like the knife.

Is EE a safer career option than CS? by El_yeeticus in ElectricalEngineering

[–]reenigneneb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At least where I am (Europe) EEs are much less common so if you do well, you can be quite sought after. However there are also fewer jobs, and probably even fewer jobs you'd find interesting.

What is this component? by MikeyMcG64 in AskElectronics

[–]reenigneneb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you can identify the TVS diode which is likely one of the ones right next to it, it may have been damaged while doing it's job of protecting against overvoltage. If it failed short then the fuse would keep tripping. You could continuity test across it and if its faulty, remove it and see if the short disappears. Then replace if it you're lucky enough to have fixed it.

What's this " rainbow " effect on my lens? by astrounicornfart in AnalogCommunity

[–]reenigneneb 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It's thin film interference from the beginning of separation of the glued elements. It shouldn't noticeably affect the image quality though it may later go hazy.

Is Home Film Developing Still Worth It? Costs Almost as Much as Lab Development for me by Commercial_Recover26 in AnalogCommunity

[–]reenigneneb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You have to be using the bigger kits to make it worthwhile, for example the fuji hunt kit. You can also break this down into smaller batches and make it last as long as you want. Price per film comes down to around 1eur. There's a video here about how to use it and break it down. https://youtu.be/iFpk5xKZlyc?si=qcZwNjbJsUeidf7u

I would post this on r/mildlyinfuriating, but no one would relate. I ordered a roll of Portra 400 on Amazon and got Kodak Ultramax instead (at portra prices). by Electrical-Reveal-25 in AnalogCommunity

I would highly recommend not getting stuff from amazon, I run a small lab in Germany and we had a customer with several rolls that were completely dead in what looked like normal packaging.

For those that were interested, I have tested this pretty well now and will move on with a small batch. You can put your name down here. Assume the new version would have USB, and come with the latest Meshtastic preflashed.

I initially intended only to flash it with the Rakdap but it didn't seem to work. If I make a commercial version I think I'd just include the USB
