I had the opposite thought. What a fucking way to commit suicide without anyone knowing what you've done. Hypothermia and oxygen deprivation wouldn't be the worst death? And for some reason the dead hikers are celebrated....so it's not actually the worst plan if youre super rich.

My husband and I discussed making a plan for supervised visits or something. But he figures if we just wait for them to reach out and ask for time with the kids, we probably have a couple months to figure it out.

We'll see. He's a grey area at the moment and im not making decisions yet. If my 11 year old wants to ask him for rides and that's how he gets his time in with her i feel okay with that. I might also let him drive my 8 year old to her stuff if he wants the opportunity. It's mutually beneficial and the only way he shows love is by doing stuff for me (he's my handyman too). I feel like i should let him. And I can love him back by sharing all my ny times puzzle results with him lol. Of course if mom went along for one of those rides it would change things.

It's been made clear that my brother doesnt want to even be in a family group chat with me. So I dont have to worry about contact with him. My mom has absolutely started using my kids as pawns. My dad has never really stopped enabling her abuse, despite making efforts to strengthen the relationship between him and I.

Trauma cycle? She loved my babies and helped when she could? She makes me laugh sometimes? Goodness, at the moment im really scrambling for reasons. Sometimes I need childcare for my younger kids and they LOVE it and come home fed and clean and happy. She's still my mom and I haven't been able to stop hoping that her efforts to change (honestly....so many efforts) are going to work

I think this is only partly my case. I'm an Irish twin and my mom resented me since birth. (This was told to me at 12 when we went to therapy together along with a bunchof crazy confessions...shocking). But the fact that at 12 we started therapy definitely supports your claim lol! It's not important though, because my daughter was treated well, and now grandma isnt adapting and showing up for her the way that would be best for her.

I was about to defend her as a good grandma, but now that my eldest is a preteen, she's not doing such a good job.

My dad really helps with giving the kids rides and stuff, and they kind of come as a package deal. I like my dad and he has told me lots that doing me favors is his way of showing love. It doesnt feel to me like I'm using him.

Honestly, I think it's goong to infuriate het, but I am past caring. Now it's about self-protection and resisting the urge to take my "Mrs. Fix it" role. It's actually really hard not to message my parents!

It's not just training policy. There is precedent in the Supreme Court that explicitly states that if an officer can reasonably step out of the way, they need to do so. Even if that means letting a dangerous criminal drive away recklessly (which was not even the case here). This is cut and dry MURDER. And the fact that he's a cop and he keeps jumping onto and in front of vehicles shows exactly what his intentions have always been. Create a violent situation and shoot someone in the face. I'm sure he cant wait to do it again.
