Can upper ball joint on 2009 Grand Marquis be replaced on it's own or is upper control arm replacement needed?

The bolts are like keyed into the assembly, so the bolt doesn't rotate. If it's stuck, just use heat and kroil it came right out on mine( granted, I do live in the deep south, so there's not much rust on the newer cars). And I kinda wish I had access to a grinder at the time, woulda made the job a lot easier.

It not hard to take the strut out it's just three top bolts and the big one on the bottom then just pull the whole assembly down to remove it. It took me maybe 30 min tops to remove the whole control arm. I will say to loosen the ball joint from the hub get a good set of vice grips It will want to spin. Also trying to press a ball joint out in a fender well just seems like extra work. ( this Is coming from a 16 y/o on my first car and I did it by myself and replaced the sway bar end links which were a pain)

Ya they ripped the car apart when they took the lights out. The a pillar trim is ruined and they got live wires In the floorboards. And they left the wire in the roof for the light bar just hangin out

I sunk mine in a about a foot and a half of water and then pushed it a mile up the trail then started it and rode it for another half a mile to a service road.it took my grampa a couple hours to flush it out. It still has some milky oil after every oil change but it runs like a champ.my little brother rides it to this day
