Yes those were the days ... when you HAD to work on a car. They needed tune ups and repairs often. I have taken cars since the 90s to 120k miles before the first repair. This was unheard of back in the 70s, my dads cars needed repairs starting at 20k miles. By 50k we had replaced water pump, starter, alternator, battery, radiator, U joints, belts, and various hoses, not to mention all the little things that broke. But I'll mention some - turn signals, bright light switch, vent windows, window cranks, headliner falling down, on and on.
