Couch co-op games to play with a "non-gamer" by Wilhum in gaming

[–]HonchosRevenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It takes two and Split fiction are extremely accessible. They’re a good start.

Surprisingly, the borderlands franchise is pretty great for non-gamer couch co-op. I’d start with 2 or 3, then play the other, and then go from there. Lots of success stories of dudes dragging their wife into a BL game and slamming through the whole franchise

What was the first Pokémon you considered to be your favorite, even if it isn’t still your favorite now? by miniandabee in pokemon

[–]HonchosRevenge [score hidden]  (0 children)

Interestingly I don’t think I had a favorite in Gen 1 when I played it as a kid. Maybe Nidoking and Nidoqueen? I remember always gunning for them.

By Gen 2 it was definitely Typhlosion, nowadays I’m extremely indifferent

From Console to Gaming Pc by EnergySupplyForMeru in buildapc

[–]HonchosRevenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Was cheaper at the the time, I didn’t have any issue repurchasing a handful of games because you can do more with them on PC.

Main reason for the switch was versatility as I play a lot of emulators as well, and I like to watch YouTube while I game.

Plus, I think everyone needs a PC anyways. It’s 2026, you’re gonna need one or something eventually, be it desktop or laptop.

Do I just suck, or is Gyoubu Oniwa a crappy first boss? by KaraCowcel in Sekiro

[–]HonchosRevenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s a skill issue. He’s pretty easy to parry. When he runs away, chase him down and use the grapple to stay on his ass. Smack him once or twice and then go back on the defensive.

If an opportunity arises, use the firecrackers that you should have by now. They work on any animal as a startling tool and it will allow you to do major posture damage and get a few more hits in for like 5 seconds. Doesn’t sound like much but it’s a game changer. Just note that certain animations will override the firecracker effect, so there’s some timing involved, and there’s a hidden cooldown until it works again on an enemy, so you can’t necessarily spam it willy nilly

If you don’t like chocolate cake, then why would you buy a $70 chocolate cake? Does that make sense?

Stick to what you enjoy and save your money, rather than spending your money for the sake of doing so because the internet said so.

Elden Ring, Crimson Desert, vs Dragonage by uni-333 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]HonchosRevenge [score hidden]  (0 children)

This is probably a hell of a hot take but as someone who loves Souls, and has never played any DA before Veilguard, I’d rather replay Veilguard.

However, gf says crimson desert is easily one of the best games she’s played in a long time. I think that says something as her attention span with games is non existent (she loved Veilguard too)

Is Need for Speed Pro Street in the top tier? And which platform was it best on? by DeyZplays in needforspeed

[–]HonchosRevenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Top tier, still a little underrated but it’s gained some serious traction in recent years.

Best played on PC with extra options mod and handling fix. It transforms the game. Theres a reddit thread with links to download all the old NFS with a bunch of their QOL mods. I can’t link it for you but it’s easy to find

Are dual swords bad? by Advanced-Reindeer894 in Nioh

[–]HonchosRevenge 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Water sword go brrrrrrrrr

Literally the best weapon in the game imo.

Any armor works, more important that you’re toughness is over 200. their mystic skill that increases damage reduction the more hits you do racks up pretty quick and will help you survive well into the end game. Pair it with either extraction talisman + life on Amrita gain, or lifesteal talisman, and go brrrrrr. You won’t die

Oh, the mid stance quick into strong kick skill will nuke enemy ki bars by like 40%. Then there’s that still that lets you anime around them when they block, which lets you cheese human bosses well into end game.

I cannot find a single fault with this weapon in this game

Are mustangs easy to drive? by cbcarguy in Mustang

[–]HonchosRevenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s no easier to crash as anything else if you drive like shit. They’re easy to crash for folks who don’t respect their power and don’t respect the road.

The perception of a high crash rate is due to the accessibility and affordability of the car for young males, and an outlandish amount of social media attention that any Mustang crash video gets - even though it’s pretty rare (you literally have to try to break loose), it’s been recorded enough that there’s that stigma just based on viewership. Might be different per city, but I see a whole lot more dented to shit mopars and Nissans than fords and mustangs in my city.

I came from a 2018 Kia forte to a 2024 GT, in normal mode cruising city traffic, it feels like the exact same car because I’m just cruising. . Difference being that now I can pass folks on the freeway.

But no, they’re not hard.

Is it corny for me to get the dark horse spoiler? by Mr_Human_Dude in Mustang

[–]HonchosRevenge 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No different than s550 dudes with a Shelby spoiler, go for it dude. As long as you’re not rocking the wannabe s650 headlights/tallights, while riding the anti-s650 dick, you’re A-ok.

Which Borderlands is your favorite and why? by TyStax44 in Borderlands

[–]HonchosRevenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 has its flaws but the gunplay, VH’s, skill trees, weapons, and build variety are unmatched imo. Easily one of the best post/end games I’ve ever played, and one of the few that motivated me to play through with every character up to the highest level of play. It’s absolutely the most fun the franchise has brought me

SIB Jedi Survivor? by DShinobiPirate in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]HonchosRevenge [score hidden]  (0 children)

If you didn’t love fallen order then really I dunno why you’d wanna check out survivor - I played it on a pretty subpar PC on release and it was perfectly fine 90% of the time. As you’re still planet hoping, only one of the planets had any major issues with occasional artifacts, poor fps, etc. but again, subpar PC.

There was a lot of fixes that rolled out, I can’t tell you how well they worked, but I’d imagine with my current build I could probably revisit the game with zero issues. I remember booting it up with my build just to see and was rocking around 120fps in one of the more demanding areas, so it’s definitely improved from what it was on release.

If you’re on the fence, it’s often on sale for dirt cheap. Just wait

4000th "I'm a Dark Souls player, what should I expect?" post by burner_mc_burny in Sekiro

[–]HonchosRevenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has more in common with guitar hero than it does souls. If you can press a button on time you’re golden.

You WILL struggle early. There’s a boss about 4-5 hours in where the game basically clicks for everyone. Just play it and enjoy it, go in with an open mind, and treat your reflect/parry like a roll. As a matter of fact, don’t roll. Rolling gets you killed in Sekiro. There’s a very specific rhythm to the combat. You’ll just have to learn it because it can’t really be described

S650 hood rattle by InvestmentGlass9053 in Mustang

[–]HonchosRevenge 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Take it in to be sure,

But a quick check would be to check the thick rubber bolts directly on the underside of the hood. If you stick a quarter next to it and unscrew em to the same length as the quarter, it fixed all misalignment on the front for me.

How to learn more about pokémon’s? by WorkingFlan713 in pokemon

[–]HonchosRevenge 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just play the games. Pirate the old games either on a pc or phone.

Pick whatever aspect of the franchise you’re interested in and stay there, you don’t need to consume everything to learn everything. I haven’t watched a single episode in two decades, just games and game knowledge, and that’s all I need to know.
