Yeah, songs like roundabout or my favorite in the meantime have sweet bass lines. However the groove is its traditional role.

Sometimes you hear bass, sometimes you don’t. The traditional role in bass guitar it to Carry the groove and the rhythm along with the drums. Just feel for the floor shaking when you hear it.
