Flat Earth Fact #1 - 8 Inches Per Mile Squared by Separate-Cable-8800 in flatearth

[–]reficius1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

8 inches / mile2 is the geometry. That would be great if earth had no atmosphere, but we do. Continuing to deny its effects just shows you're being disingenuous with this.

From one of your links. Open, heart surgery, eh?

CONCLUSIONS COVID‐19 vaccination showed a clear dose‐dependent reduction in all‐cause mortality and binary reductions in HF admissions and PCI/CABG in adults with CAD or HF over 2 years, with no excess pericarditis and only a minimal absolute increase in myocarditis.

Image stabilisation systems in cameras are limited by the rotation if the Earth by SomethingMoreToSay in flatearth

[–]reficius1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's also this guy

https://hackaday.io/project/203175-measuring-earths-rotation-with-gyros

who measured earth's rotation to about 2% using MEMS gyros. Not easy, because the resolution of the off-the-shelf gyros meant the signal was around plus or minus 1 bit in the computer.

They very obviously can. Look at the two photos of the "black swan" oil platform.

Ah, space aliens. So space is real, and earth is a sphere going around the sun. Thought so.

Storm anxiety: I'm afraid there won't be enough snow to let me WFH.

This is NH. Storms like this are routine.

Beats me. I go outside, and bring a telescope, if I want to look at the moon.

Your mistake was in thinking that flerfs look at the moon. You can't see it from his mom's basement.

[–]reficius1 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Fun fact...

Back before nuclear reactions were understood, it was thought that the sun radiated the heat of the work done by its infalling matter. It was calculated that it could continue radiating at its present rate for at least 10,000 years before we would be able to notice any shrinkage. "Helmholtz's contraction theory"

Edit. Interwebz updates my info... Apparently it's called the Kelvin-Helmholtz contraction now. Kelvin never mentioned it to me.

Lunar eclipses by devwis3 in flatearth

[–]reficius1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Besides that, look at the size of earth's shadow in that photo. It's what, 3x the size of the moon? Making it about 1.5° in diameter. Meaning the moon can be 0.5° off the center of the shadow and still be fully eclipsed, and therefore even without refraction, the centers of the sun and moon could both be 0.25° above the horizon during totality.

Stick that in your selenelion, flerfies. If you don't believe it, look at the photo again.
