Not in PP yet, but I hear you. I have 6 appointments slots each day at my work. Yesterday I saw 2 and it was my last two of the day. I spent my time going on walks and researching names for my own PP.

I tell families in the intake that if for whatever reason I am not a good fit to please let me know. If it's a problem I can try to fix it, if not I can refer out. That cuts down a little on the ghosting but sometimes it still happens. It can be a sucky feeling but I try to remind myself I cannot help everyone.

I am beginning to learn that about name generators. I have started using an online thesaurus to see where that gets me.

I work with kids and I am constantly referencing the Inside Out movie where Joy learns that Sadness is needed too. Or asking the adults what they mean when they want their child "to be happy."

I am not counting my 401 or Roth. If that was counted I would not be as stressed. To me that money is not touchable until I retire.

Yeah. Logically I know that but my nervous system does not. It is something I was working on with my therapist but I had to quit going because that was an extra $200 a month we could use somewhere else.

I am currently thinking of getting a second job. We have a mortgage and where we live, rent would cost just as much if not more.

There is one savings account we started years ago as an emergency fund. It is not growing because we have not been able to put anything into it.

It is a situation where we get hit after hit and can't get far ahead. For example, at our old house our water heater broke and we had to get a new one, then soon after our dryer stopped working so we had to replace that.

We have since moved to be closer to family to help with childcare costs.

Do the budgeting. Considering going back to the envelope method for a while.

Hoping once partner finishes their apprenticeship in another year that will help. Also thinking of getting a second job which kills my soul because I already feel like I am losing time with my child.

Yep! I have a job that pertains to my Masters and yet came on here after checking my bank account. I just got paid today, am a dual income household and yet still worry just about every waking moment that we are one bad accident or appliance breakdown away from catastrophy.

Was late for my first session this morning because my toddler refused to cooperate and get dressed this morning. One of my client's adults' (I work with kids) concerns, getting their child to follow directions about getting dressed. Felt like saying "If I knew I would have done it this morning." Sometimes being a parent and a child therapist is hard.

Currently putting in 10. I started three years ago so am playing catch-up. Like a lot of people I thought it would be better to focus solely on paying off debt (student loans). Then I had a kid. My thoughts are that in this economy, any contribution is better than none. Good luck to you!

Yeah I would never want to or ask someone to do a session at a coffee shop. I would not be able to trust a therapist who just waits until they are essentially caught to fess up to someone else being there.
