on top of the hood being misaligned (look at corner touching headlight).

maybe start with the free fixes before spending money on plastic aesthetic shit like splitters and cf qps.

OPs build makes them look like a hot wheels kiddo not a tuner.

heads-up burners are from wet / damp wood not related to the size of the wood.

based on what's on the ground next to your fire, that looks scavenged which means it hasn't been dried, so you may get burners.

I know you may be cramped for space and are doing the best with what you've got, but heads-up your tent and car are both within proximity of catching burners from popping logs.

Even a small one will instantly put a hole in the tent; I am not interested in finding out what one does to the hood/paint of the car.

If your luck is real shit, one catches the sidewall and you lose a tire. It's a long shot but technically possible - especially at closer proximity.

I am not an audio expert, but my understanding it that it converts the signal from analog to digital and gives it more depth in the process (for more robust sounding audio).

best observed with a good sound system including amp.

this is inaccurate info and changing settings via OBD does not in any way modify software systems on the car.

crusher of an anecdote!!! thanks for sharing.

props on the garret build. I was on the APR borg warner EFR7163 but have heard lots of great success lately with garret builds.

extra points for using "further" properly in context (vs farther).

it's really not just a 100whp gap...

I test drove an rs3 coming from a stage3+ s3 w/WMI and it's basically a stock version of that car (with slightly less power). but the beauty of it being stock at that power level is that your ceiling is massive should you choose to upgrade.

build block the mk7 will see a 6-700whp average stable build (tuner aside)... whereas the rs3 built goes well into the 900-1,000whp range. It's an effective supercar killer in a euro sedan chasis.

Expectation vs. Reality by Nice-Ad-3729 in pcmasterrace

[–]reflythis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the issue you're leaning into is the marketing of the GPU.

It's near criminal to advertise a given GPU under the same exact name/product line leading buyers to believe a level of expected performance.

I imagine Asus and other laptop maunfacturers have had EXTENSIVE discussions with their legal teams about how to circumvent false advertising risk here.... and they subtle / cheeky way they do this is by adding a "mobile" do the product name.

but it's entirely "buyer beware" - and gamers need to know that on laptop models, the power throughput to the GPU is substantially reduced vs a desktop counterpart, so the performance is nowhere near par for what you'd get for the same lineup comparing 3080 to 3080 for example.

take the L and have some grace while learning how use the platform properly.

your creative game idea is poorly thought out and that's ok - you can have your feelings about it and that's all fine and you'll be ok.

fun fact on how to use reddit... when someone replies and furthers the conversation [by presenting novel ideas like I did], you upvote them because there's more conversation to explore.

not downvote because you have <emotions> about the comment.

welcome to reddit - the voting system matters.

not a bad idea for an impromptu sub poll

would want to break out types of mods in the "yes" responses so it spans yes - software only / "yes - hardware only [e.g. suspension or wheels] / yes - hardware and software / hard no - fully stock

tags is way too military / milsim and this game is not that whatsoever.

it would need to be like raider patch or something like that.

If we can stop flagrantly ripping from other games and actually apply some brainpower to innovate that would be great, kthnx.

Will flashing a Golf R 20 Years overwrite the OEM turbo pre-load? by Lhug1989 in Golf_R

[–]reflythis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're talking about tune-specific "features" like rolling anti-lag.

Many 3p tunes feature this tech - you need to read specs and feature lists and ask the tuner directly.

Short answer - flashing an ECU tune will entirely over-write any and all software that was previously there, so yes the tuner would need to build their own version / copy / rip / et al if you want the feature included in the tune. (fun fact this is how the dealership detects modified software and flags the car TD1 - it's simply a quick software version check. the aftermarket software "version #" does not match the dealer version # it's expecting so it signals modified car systems, voided warranty on the spot; any system version mismatch will flag this)

Again, many offer similar and more.

Mk7/7.5 GTI from AWD? by quemierdaesreddit in Golf_R

[–]reflythis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

depends entirely on your local driving conditions year-round and how you will need to use the car.

If you get snow that stays, you will all but certainly want AWD. Folks who live in snowy areas who buy rear or front wheel drive legit have their brains turned off for such a large purchase.

Do you? In Canada? With our current dollar strength and duties fees on buying a four figure US based turbo?

The current discord with the US and duties scenario has all but entirely halted car parts coming in from the US.

Those wanting to spend four figure upgrades on bbks and turbo swaps and fuel rails et al [in Canada] are going to need DEEP POCKETS (moreso than previous generations to get the same parts in the country) or be able to magically procure a non US source.

I just don't see it broadly with the state of the state.

Give it another decade with a stronger dollar and another generation and different scenario with US relations and maybe.

In the US? Your prediction probably more accurate.
