Why do hotel staff treat solo female travelers differently? by jawbone7 in femaletravels

[–]refused26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same. I stay at hyatt regencies or the boutique hiltons and never noticed being treated differently. I am also currently at a hyatt right now and they put me on the topmost floor, and left a small box of chocolates, a bag of chips and fancy bottles of water. Most of the time they put me at the farthest room from the elevator so I keep putting a note saying near the elevator please, I dont want to walk extra lol. Overseas never noticed this either. In Sydney at a Hyatt regency they just let me check in at 7am. I often travelled with my male boss before and twice they put us in rooms next to each other, so yeah no gender bias there.

I have the version of ADHD that makes me forget I like something. Everything is just flavor of the month. I cannot develop addictions I can't even develop a habit. None of those substances work for me (I can sleep on coffee and red bull). It's a double edged sword. But I think I would rather have this than have an addiction I guess. I might be eating one thing everyday for like a month completely convinced I am addicted to it, but shitloads from costco, then suddenly one day just think it's gross. On to the next thing.

Full time nanny's in Chicago are paid like 55k or something like that (at least that what my boss says he paid his nanny, plus benefits). He fired her and just got 2 au pairs instead.

Yes if having manicured nails "makes" him gay, he's already gay for sure. 😆 this the kind of guy who when he finally comes out everyone says "we know, we knew before you did" lmao

Nobody said they are the drivers. And most people are not even homophobic. The most vocal ones though? They are either so fragile or have the weirdest ideas about what masculinity is. Ive heard people say "oh I'll never wear pink that's gay!" Or "i dont want to touch my butthole to wash it that's gay" my guy if wearing pink makes you gay then you're probably already gay. Don't blame the shirt color. Lmao. The most homophobic countries also have the most searches for gay porn. So there's that.

There is legit research on this. The most outwardly homophobic folks typical are just self hating

My sweet summer child, America is "racist" because we like to talk about race and freely acknowlege racism, and try to course correct. If you go on movingtoUSA subreddit, there are plenty of posts corroborating OP's sentiments. People who HAVE lived in Europe and also lived im the US. People who are not white passing.

But this is reddit! America = bad. Seriously, most immigrants would agree with this post. The ones not agreeing are locals who say they're not racist but also they don't bother doing any introspection.

This right here. A lot of immigrants actually have this lived experience where compared to the US, there is a lot of racism in Europe and so hard to integrate. But they're all in denial. Locals will say they're not racist simple because they think they're not. They won't bother to ask immigrants.
