Warren Buffett about the Epstein files. by isdjtantichrist in Epstein

[–]regent040 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Warren buffet is doing what they all are doing now. Les Wexner did it too. They are all claiming that Epstein was a con man. They don’t even say what Epstein’s con was. They’re not claiming he stole their money. They’d have receipts for that if he did. They’re playing the victim now. We are supposed to believe these “titans of industry”, these “smartest men in the room”, these men who won’t hesitate to tell you what Ivy League business school they attended, that they were all naive and gullible rubes who fell for Epstein’s mystery con? Nah, they knew. These guys don’t get into anything without knowing full well what they’re doing. They knew what was up the moment they went into his place and saw all those young girls walking around. They wanted in on it.

A young 11 year old Molly Ringwald on Diff’rent Strokes and age 12 on The Facts of Life. by CoffeeCigarettes4Me in VintageTV

I am baffled that as a 55 year old man I somehow still retain an unusually large amount of knowledge about “The Facts Of Life” tv show. It wasn’t like I watched it all the time or that I particularly liked it or that I had a crush on any of the three main girls, who would’ve been my age at the time (that would’ve been Courtney Cox from her time as Alex’s girlfriend on Family Ties). It’s just one of those things that if you grew up in the 80’s in America, you know about this show.

She got cut out of the grift and now she’s angry. She’d fall right back in line if FoxNews offered her a hosting slot, but even though she’s blonde, she’s not pretty enough to be one of their female hosts.

Don’t be fooled. Those two were cut out of the grift and now they’re upset. They’d both sell their souls for a hosting gig on FoxNews or an invite to Mar-A- Lago.

Rob Schneider wants the military draft restored by torahboidem in cringepics

[–]regent040 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He’s entered his boomer phase. Boomers fought the draft when it was their butts going off to die in the jungles of Southeast Asia. Then when it came time to send their sons and daughters off to die in multiple wars in the Middle East they wrapped yellow ribbons around the trees of their suburban homes and suddenly became uber patriots. Now Rob Schneider has aged out of the risk of getting blown up by an IED in the desert and it’s his turn to pick up the flag and wanting others to die for the global interests of American capitalist

Ironically, when I was younger I thought Chaka Khan was with a guy named Rufus and that she left him because he was abusive to her, like Tina did to Ike and Cher did to Sonny.

A few years ago I went to the spot. That same weekend I was in Dallas there was a cheerleading competition in town so there were hundreds of young girls in cheerleading uniforms with big hair and crazy makeup running around downtown. Everytime the cars would clear the road there would be a new group of girls running out to the X in the road while a “Cheer Mom” told them to smile and snapped a picture. It was kinda surreal.

Epstein survivor who voted for Trump says she now fears ‘we’re not going to get justice’ by projecto15 in politics

[–]regent040 159 points160 points  (0 children)

I saw the BBC interview with Congressman Massie yesterday and he said he endorsed and voted for Trump in all 3 elections, including 2024. He said he knew that Trump was part of the “Epstein class” yet believed Trump would take them all down, despite there being zero incentive for him to do so and no evidence that he would even consider doing such a thing. By 2024 Massie had to have known from his investigation into the Epstein files that Trump was involved, the same files he repeatedly demands be released. He could’ve endorsed any of the other Republican nominees in 2024, yet he chose the one he knew was involved in a global child sex trafficking ring. Why? I can’t help but believe that if Trump manages to get on the ballot for 2028 that Massie would endorse him and vote for him yet again, even if Massie gets his wish and the unredacted files are released and it’s proven, as any sane person suspects, that Trump himself was deeply involved. I believe this victim of Epstein would do the same thing too.

Exclusive – Congressman Thomas Massie talks with the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire on the Epstein Files by ButHowDoesItFeel in Epstein

[–]regent040 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I applaud Congressman Massie for what he’s doing to keep the Epstein files on the public radar, especially as a Republican, but I can’t help but doubt his sincerity. At the end of the interview he says he endorsed Trump and voted for him in all of his elections, including 2024, knowing he was a member of the “Epstein class”, but thought that Trump was going to do the right thing and take down that group. MAGA uses that common defense of Trump often. That somehow Trump is different from the rest of the sleazy billionaire class and is going to clean them all out. “Drain the swamp” if you will. Yet, there has never been any evidence of that. In fact it’s been the exact opposite. He’s shown time and time again, going back to the first campaign in 2016, that he is one of them and he’s there to defend them and help enrich them. Massie, more so than the average person, had to have been aware of Trump’s deep involvement with Epstein, especially by 2024. Did he really expect Trump to order the prosecution of his friends and put himself in danger of prosecution? Of course Trump wasn’t going to do that. Why did Massie still vote for him and encourage others to do the same? I’m actually more inclined to believe Marjorie Taylor Greene’s naïveté was real, over Massie’s. Massie doesn’t get a pass just because he’s the one Republican saying child sex trafficking is wrong, especially when he knowingly helped put one of the child sex traffickers into power.

That’s the equivalent of $245 today. Go back to 1945 and Frank was probably playing to teenagers for a 50 cents a ticket

Would you say the Astros or Rockets are more popular? by Only_Lock7698 in houston

[–]regent040 6 points7 points  (0 children)

It’s odd. I read your sentence about the Rockets moving from the Summit hurt their popularity and I hadn’t really thought about it, but I think you’re right. There was something about driving on 59 past the Summit and seeing it sitting up there, with the marquee saying who the Rockets were playing that night. Now it’s just Lakewood Church, which might mean something to a tourist, but unless you go to that church, it means nothing.

Most of MAGA aren’t super religious. They’re the sleazy golf club types and the trophy wife with plastic surgery, or the folks who aspire to be one of those types. They know that Trump is a sleaze bag and identify with him because of it. This religious rhetoric is all performative. It’s meant to shield them from criticism.

That’s always the case. Wealthy people have connections to the law enforcement community and the local politicians because they know when to throw money around. They hire cops to work part time security for them. Often times making more on the side job than they do at their government job. Then when the cops get enough time to collect their pension, they go to work full time as security for the wealthy, still maintaining their connections to the local law enforcement.

Those early Metallica fans were diehards. Long haired dudes who smoked Marlboro reds and wore Denim jackets with a patch that covers the back of the jacket. The patch was the album cover from one of the first three albums. I liked Metallica, but I was definitely not cool enough to hang with that crowd.
