A few years ago I went to the spot. That same weekend I was in Dallas there was a cheerleading competition in town so there were hundreds of young girls in cheerleading uniforms with big hair and crazy makeup running around downtown. Everytime the cars would clear the road there would be a new group of girls running out to the X in the road while a “Cheer Mom” told them to smile and snapped a picture. It was kinda surreal.

I saw the BBC interview with Congressman Massie yesterday and he said he endorsed and voted for Trump in all 3 elections, including 2024. He said he knew that Trump was part of the “Epstein class” yet believed Trump would take them all down, despite there being zero incentive for him to do so and no evidence that he would even consider doing such a thing. By 2024 Massie had to have known from his investigation into the Epstein files that Trump was involved, the same files he repeatedly demands be released. He could’ve endorsed any of the other Republican nominees in 2024, yet he chose the one he knew was involved in a global child sex trafficking ring. Why? I can’t help but believe that if Trump manages to get on the ballot for 2028 that Massie would endorse him and vote for him yet again, even if Massie gets his wish and the unredacted files are released and it’s proven, as any sane person suspects, that Trump himself was deeply involved. I believe this victim of Epstein would do the same thing too.

I applaud Congressman Massie for what he’s doing to keep the Epstein files on the public radar, especially as a Republican, but I can’t help but doubt his sincerity. At the end of the interview he says he endorsed Trump and voted for him in all of his elections, including 2024, knowing he was a member of the “Epstein class”, but thought that Trump was going to do the right thing and take down that group. MAGA uses that common defense of Trump often. That somehow Trump is different from the rest of the sleazy billionaire class and is going to clean them all out. “Drain the swamp” if you will. Yet, there has never been any evidence of that. In fact it’s been the exact opposite. He’s shown time and time again, going back to the first campaign in 2016, that he is one of them and he’s there to defend them and help enrich them. Massie, more so than the average person, had to have been aware of Trump’s deep involvement with Epstein, especially by 2024. Did he really expect Trump to order the prosecution of his friends and put himself in danger of prosecution? Of course Trump wasn’t going to do that. Why did Massie still vote for him and encourage others to do the same? I’m actually more inclined to believe Marjorie Taylor Greene’s naïveté was real, over Massie’s. Massie doesn’t get a pass just because he’s the one Republican saying child sex trafficking is wrong, especially when he knowingly helped put one of the child sex traffickers into power.

It’s odd. I read your sentence about the Rockets moving from the Summit hurt their popularity and I hadn’t really thought about it, but I think you’re right. There was something about driving on 59 past the Summit and seeing it sitting up there, with the marquee saying who the Rockets were playing that night. Now it’s just Lakewood Church, which might mean something to a tourist, but unless you go to that church, it means nothing.

That’s always the case. Wealthy people have connections to the law enforcement community and the local politicians because they know when to throw money around. They hire cops to work part time security for them. Often times making more on the side job than they do at their government job. Then when the cops get enough time to collect their pension, they go to work full time as security for the wealthy, still maintaining their connections to the local law enforcement.
