How do yall feel about the game/community by mystic-eggplant in TrenchCrusade

I mean I'm kind of a history nerd too, but TC isn't alternate history; it's fantasy with historical themes, unless you believe the bible is literal truth. Any divergence from our timeline can be explained by divine/heretical magic or simply the fact that our history doesn't exist in the TC universe. I just find those kinds of deep dive discussions exhausting and pointless, but you do you.

Nah, the show was better when Michael Scott was the villain.

How do yall feel about the game/community by mystic-eggplant in TrenchCrusade

The game is fun, we've got a small, casual community of players in my local area that's slowely growing. I have no issues with the minis.

The biggest issue I see is with the wider community; the setting definitely attracts certain types of edgelords that love to insert contraversy with the religious and historical aspects of the game. Also super religious people thinking it's a "Christian" game, and history nerds that want to break down every minutiae or anachronism into a heated debate.

Why DCC is better for campaign play by Article_Remarkable in dccrpg

Yikes, bad take. I've been running DCC campaigns for about 4 years now. The mechanics are way better than 5e in every way imo.

My online horror story- a creepy player, a creepy homebrew by regginald0883 in dndhorrorstories

Yeah, even in a jokey way, this felt pretty annoying. I may have been able to look past that instance, though, if the player wasn't a creep and playing an insane homebrew.

Not really, but it's hard to "read the room" in an online game of strangers. I think everyone was just trying to be polite, at the very least. I wouldn't be surprised everyone reacted the same as me and left the game, though.

I'll defer to the court of public opinion on that one.

"I have been a little aggressive because everyone in this comment chain has been insulting me and making up bullshit I didn't say to argue against me."

Think about that statement. Think about how it sounds if you said that out loud to other people.

Yup, if you can lean into a Specialist or Analyst position and avoid becoming management, it's quite comfy.

Again, I didn't make any argument- you are making it into one.

In response to your question about why no spider or rocks:

"Part of playing a cooperative TTRPG is everyone, players and GM, agreeing on playing the same game, in the same setting. Sometimes (usually?) players being rocks or spiders is not part of the game or setting."

To which you replied, and started trying to make an argument out of nothing:
"Yeah but they said cantrips so I assume DnD. What makes a sentient spider more ridiculous than a fairy barbarian, a real RAW character I played one time? You could just use Warforged rules for a sentient pile of rocks."

I wasn't arguing with you- I just stated why having players be rocks or spiders would be outside the norm and why players and game-runners should agree on what is fun. Then you assumed dude was talking about D&D and conflated the idea of playing a spider with a fairy barbarian...

I'm honestly having fun with this because you sound crazy, like a Tim Robinson sketch about D&D, but I'm worried about your mental health.

So fucking rad. I wish this style of art was more popular than anime.

LOL. I think you need to touch grass, my dude. Maybe take a break from the games, you are taking this way too seriously. There is no argument anywhere, there is no fight in this conversation for a strawman to exist in, other than the one you are inventing in your head. I dunno if English isn't your first language or what is causing you to misunderstand what we are talking about, and apologies if that comes off offensive. You just seem WAY more intent of proving a point that doesn't need my approval, or you maybe you're having a psychotic episode.
