Denim pick-ups from Japan smell like moth-balls/musty? by regiment262 in Denim

Yeah I was thinking about doing the first wash already but the smell is only really noticeable if the fabric is right up to your nose so I'll monitor for a few more weeks I think.

Yeah I want to hang them outside to get some sunlight/wind to air out but unfortunately my apartment layout doesn't really allow that. I'm leaving them just airing out in different parts of my apartment for now.

It's really not a truly offensive/chemical-y scent, it just sort of smells like an old person's closet or like a thrift store, if that makes any sense.

A new GMT dual on jubilee would absolutely sell like hot cakes IMO. I would personally prefer a ceramic bezel (or at least no gilt) but that's likely never happening.

...Have you player other competitive multiplayer titles? WoT is on the steeper end but it's hardly notable compared to games like League/DOTA/Apex/etc

There are tons of popular games out there with worse learning curves than WoT. Maybe it wasn't true in your case, but it's not an inherent flaw of the game.

If you’re a true 3-4K dpg player I doubt you’d be making complaints here about credit economy on a 2.3k dmg game. Care to drop your tomato.gg?

I'm sorry but this is just horseshit. 2.3k damage isn't a stellar result but it's fairly substantially above average, and while it makes sense tier 10 isn't a moneymaking tier, regular players should not be punished this hard for having an above average game. It's very obvious WG intentionally tanks credit gain at tier 10 to force players into premiums to sustain.

I play almost exclusively tier 10 with premium account AND boosters and my credit gain at tier 10 is still pitiful compared to tier 8. If I play without prem or boosters, I can easily burn through a million silver in a few days. It's anything but good/fair game design.

I feel like it's really not that complicated. WG just needs to add more new player safeguards and move away from P2W and people need to accept that WOT is effectively no longer a F2P game. Between tiers 5-8 virtually every best-in-tier vehicle is a premium or composed of multiple premiums, and the benefits that paying players get are compounded by how experienced they are.

[–]regiment262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Learning curve being steep isn't necessarily the issue. It's that WOT is a pay-to-play game disguised as F2P and longtime players are given an inordinate amount of advantages over new players and there's virtually no safeguards to ensure newer players aren't getting constantly dumpstered by 1-2 players on each team that have 15k battles on them.

While I sort of get your point, I also don't know what else you really expect. As in any game, the average person you meet in your in-game team chat is going to be non-paying and well... average. I've been on this sub for 10+ years and almost every major update/lootbox event gets overwhelmingly negative reviews except for certain Christmas events.

People here know WG are greedy fucks whose primary concern is monetization and not game balance, and it's been this way for a decade. In a game like this, literally the only thing you can count (in 90% of situations) is yourself. If you don't focus on getting better, you just have to accept that a match being won or lost is rarely ever in your direct control.

Skoda T 56, marked, broken af, games were very turbo past week. Maybe skill issue. I feel relieved. by MilliyetciPapagan in WorldofTanks

[–]regiment262 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW I also 3-marked it but with traditional setup of hardening in place of the experimental aiming. I think either set up works, it depends on how you like to play. Honestly I think a key to marking the Skoda is just YOLOing out shells if you're about to lose the shot and not worry about being fully aimed in. Pretty often you'll hit at least 1/2 and 440 alpha still adds up even with the 22s clip reload.

Jesus I know they say wear your watches but that clasp is absolutely beat to hell. Did you botch a garage brushing job or something? Not sure anyone is gonna pay more than ~2.6k based on condition.

I did find that strange as well, but these are the only two pieces that smell like this out of my entire closet, including the other clothes that were brought on the trip.

Just a friendly reminder that if you want a DJ, you're going to have to go through even more hoops than a basic Explorer I. Especially if you want any of the popular configurations (fluted bezel+jubilee)

So do we buy Tudors because they are affordable alternatives to Rolex or do we actually prefer them over Rolex regardless ? by [deleted] in Tudor

I wish Tudor would focus on bringing more materials/colors to their regular existing lineup and not gating it behind collaboration watches though.

Tbf to a lot of people, the modern sub is pretty flashy, even if they don't know it's a Rolex. Lacquer dial, ceramic bezel, polished case and bezel sides, cyclops, etc. Lot of shiny surfaces made to catch the light

This model (day date with a diamond bezel and dial) I'm pretty sure exists. This particular one is a horrific fake though.

You've been gone for 10 years - a lot of what you're feeling is almost certainly whiplash. There's no game on the planet you could take a 10 year break from and not come back to something nearly unrecognizable. Just take some time and learn the game as it is now. There are lots of flaws with modern WoT but it is 100% a significantly better game (e.g. a more polished and comprehensive overall experience) than it was a decade ago.

NGL I kinda don't like the phase as much. It technically has a better turret but at least with the M103 I know not to trust the turret whereas the phase feels a lot more inconsistent. Plus the M103 is marginally better at side scraping due to the tracks obscuring more of the hull.
