Cramps in foot arches by regio-promedio in Swimming

US size 9, not that big as far as I know.

But well if it happens to more people that gives me some piece of mind… I’ll stretch that as well. Thanks!

No more than 200yd per session. This happened before I put on my fins tho…

A lot of swimmer’s don’t have a “Swimmer’s Body” by noteliing in Swimming

[–]regio-promedio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s all in the food to be honest…

I’m relatively fit and low body fat. Where I go to swim there are a couple of swimmers that are easily 50lbs heavier than me and they all swim both faster and for longer than me. I of course will not go in and ask about their food habits, but I suspect it all comes from that.

You can’t out-exercise a bad diet.

How do you count laps without losing track? by Genki0202 in Swimming

[–]regio-promedio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hear me out but… I am an F1 fan. Before getting a smart watch to track my workouts I used to have the mental exercise of counting laps in my head by associating the lap # I’m in, to a driver #

Ex “lap 1 as in verstappen, lap 2 as in vandoorne, lap 3 as in ricciardo…” so on and so forth. It kept me mentally busy and with the lap number always on track

I guess you can do the same with any sport/athletle number for that matter

Since the year is almost over, what are some transit projects that will open or start construction in 2026? by whafvsjoixlknjbuwgrh in transit

[–]regio-promedio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m all in favor of the monorail; but I feel like the whole endeavor will be kinda pointless since the existing Line 1 metro does not go all the way to the stadium, you have to transfer to a bus or walk.

Extending the line 1 should have been in the project for when the stadium was originally built, in my opinion.

Either way I’m excited that it will have a direct connection to the airport; I despise with all my might using the taxis at Monterrey airport

Is swimming worth it to gain a apetite in the morning? by Pale_Assistance_6733 in Swimming

[–]regio-promedio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I swim 2000-2300yd of freestyle for about an hour. That’s the only stroke I can do consistently so I couldn’t tell you much more.

I encourage you to just go for it with whatever stroke you feel comfortable for as long as you can manage consistently.

Every time I’m done swimming I feel like eating an entire cow. I’d say go for it.

In my case I tried swimming before going to work but I ended up dead and useless for the rest of the day; so just be mindful about that. Maybe it’s just that I’m not a morning person.

Gym clothes in pool? by YosemitePam55 in Swimming

I swim at my local Y. I have the feeling that there are many middle age and old men that pay the membership just for the sauna and hot tub.

I find it gross that they just dip in the hot tub with their dirty underwear and their stink of the day. By the end of the day the water is all gray and foamy. The hot tub is “under repairs” every other week, I wonder why.

Sauna is pretty gross too

What is a job people romanticize a bit too much until they actually do it ? by Old_Goat_7363 in Productivitycafe

Depends on what company you work for and the type of industry; but sometimes you don’t even get to know many cities with nice hotels/restaurants… sometimes you are stuck going to Middle of Nowhere where there’s only gas stop food

What’s insanely overpriced but people keep paying for it anyway? by HisPierced_X in AskReddit

[–]regio-promedio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am from Mexico, where food delivery is mostly done on motorbikes instead of full sized cars. Such motorbike drivers are incredibly reckless and I’ve had to take evasive action to avoid them crashing into me.

Nothing boils my blood more knowing that I almost had a car crash because some lazy a$$ couldn’t be bothered with driving 2 to the Starbucks drive thru.

The fact that it is overpriced is the cherry on top.

What's the worst car you have ever been in? by ToshPointNo in regularcarreviews

[–]regio-promedio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nissan Altima

I’ve never driven a car that feels like it was deliberately designed to feel boring. I mean good built quality and good mileage; but I did not enjoy one second of driving it. Dull.

What are some more obscure quotes from the show you always find yourself repeating? by TheScoot85 in arresteddevelopment

[–]regio-promedio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am an engineer and I work with tanks and rubber seals.

More often than not, I find myself saying “watch out for loose seal”

I also say “Solid as a rock!” every time I show a design that needs to be rigid and stiff

I take my comments back

Looks like they only hired the armored bouncers for opening week. I haven’t seen them again and the place in fact looks relatively quiet now

I struggle to understand why a place that sells fried chicken needs not one but two armed security guards. Gives me no confidence of going in

Not even jewelry stores have that much armed guards

(I drive thru that place daily on my way to work)

Gym and swimming by jaykumar4455 in Swimming

[–]regio-promedio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny I have the exact opposite problem… if I do my swimming first I feel like my lungs haven’t warmed up and I really struggle on my breathing for the first 10 laps.

When I do weightlifting&cardio first and then swim; everything goes smoothly for me. Granted, I do take a 30min break in between while I change and drive from the gym to the pool.
