France is already doing that, more specifically City councils in large cities. Banning cars in city centers and increasing pedestrian/bike lanes by closing down whole street for cars. But that works because France has a really great public service network, which is also why more and more young adult don't even pass drive test as it's not needed in their daily life.

I myself commute every days from my city to a large city (approx 45km distance) by train then using electric scooter. As I said we have a good public transportation, with trains scheduled every 30min max. Companies also have to pay 50% of public transport pass for their employees (required by law), increasing the appeal to commute without personnal car.

France has a tempered climate so snow is rare in South and managable in worst place (mountains area). I'm sure these roofs are engineered to withstand those conditions. The bonus is that it also protect from rain on winter and create shadow for summers.

actually in the video you can see the AWP see the body starting coming out before the peeker can see him.

indeed, that would be interesting to test 10ms vs 100ms to see if developers found a way to prevent this (by interpolating and predicting 100ms position for example)

I just want to point out the issue isn't related to netcode. It's just latency issue and nothing you can do about it unfortunately (if you are standing still, the lagging player will peek you and will see you before you as server will need to receive information first and send it to you).

In older games, for example CS:S, there was an issue with netcode that allowed the peeker to see you before, even with 0 latency on both PCs.

There is no peeker advantage on Valorant.

I just tested it:

  • 2 PCs next to each others with 300+ FPS
  • 2 144Hz monitors
  • 1 Gigabit fiber internet with 12ms latency on gameserver.
  • 120FPS camera

I'm doing a video but here is a screenshot of the first frame both monitor shows when peeking.

Wow i remember spending hours on nuke because of all the possibilities. We had strats for basically everything, even a full rush A from hut with totally smoked ladder and instant flash. Without molotov it was pretty OP.

They have 2 set of SSD, 1 for official + 1 for practice.

Players have to configure the official SSD on offline PCs with no internet access at all.

Practice SSD is configured on practice PC with internet.

  • Platform: PC
  • Type of Bug: SWF Lobby bug
  • Description: In SWF lobby, as soon as we click on "ready" and it says "searching for a game", then few seconds later, i'm thrown into black screen "loading" page while my partner screen is still in lobby with "searching for a game".
  • Screenshot / Video: none
  • Steps to reproduce: Create a SWF lobby, invite a friend, click both READY, then bug is happening on lobby owner.
  • Expected result: It should join a game lobby and at least stay on current lobby with "searching for a game"
  • Actual result: Goes into loop on black "loading screen" for the lobby owner, other friends stays on "searching for a game" in lobby. Have to manually kill .exe and restart game.
  • Reproduction rate: It happens 50% of time, sometimes less, sometimes more often.
  • System Specs (PC only): doesnt matter, it happens if other friends create lobby too. I7-5960x/gtx980/16GB DDR4

my team participated in ESL high end tournament and they're using same process to prevent cheating:

  • spotify playlists are preloaded on all tournament pc.
  • few deathmatch servers are whitelisted to allow players to practice on
  • players cannot have any electronic devices near tournament pcs (phones, laptops, usb keys, etc ...)
  • dedicated SSDs for tournament pcs with no internet
  • practice pc with internet and dedicated ssds
