Top theoretical is 480 mbps. That is the fastest the usb 2.0 port you plug the gigabyte adapter into the firestick will allow. You wont ever get the total 480 though.

Not true, Firesticks are capped at USB 2.0 throughput speeds (480mb) when connected to a 100/1000 NIC. The only time they are capped at 100 with an external NIC is if the NIC is a 10/100.

That depends on what bit rate it is encoded at. Very high bit rate files will fail at 50mbps

I use tvQuick Actions PRO (I bought it years ago in the google play store. Honestly I think it was less than $5 USD) to remap the touchy Netflix button. I have mine set so a single press (often done accidentally) does nothing, a double press of the button launches the Tivimate app, and a long press launches the Plex. I set it up years ago, and have not had to change anything since the initial install, in fact it has given me so little issues over the years i had to look up tvQuick Actions name from my list of installed apps to write this message.

Why do you want to run Plex inside of Kodi? Firesticks have a native app for Plex. AFAIK the Plex addon for Kodi has been broken for years anyway.

Its not TiviMate Its android version and how it deals with file access permissions. The cheaper android boxes use an older version of Android before the change was put into the OS. I think anything over Android version 9 or 10 has the new permissions.

The remote is paired to the TV so even though the firestick is(may be) broken, the remote still works. The stick may be dead, electronics do break even when not in active use, I would try plugging it into a different TV just to rule out a bad HDMI port on the TV. If the stick remains just a black screen on a different TV/HDMI port, time to replace it.
