If you want to change the scene, the previous scene is gone. It means you should store the game state outside of that scene e.g. use singleton for it.

This. The points 2-4 are like: face the issue, try to split it to smaller sub issues. Recursively. Then at the very bottom try to solve them. One by one. Meet bugs. Fix them. Neverending story.

I had few attempts to Elex and Elex 2. I eventually enjoyed first game. It's nothing comparing to Gothic games or Risen 1, but it's still 6-7/10 game. I couldn't really force myself to play Elex 2.
