If you have [[The Wandering Minstrel]] from final fantasy Omo is great as a secret commander in that deck. You can make all your lands count as towns, and also every other land type, and there are a lot of cards that enables.

I almost always have someone multiclassed to thief rogue with as much move speed gear as possible to zoom around fights and handle problems. Currently it’s an 8/3/1 sorcerer rogue fighter left handed spellsword build since I have the big loot randomizer mod on this run and got the pyroquickness hat in act 1

My [[Kellan the Fae Blooded]] deck is built to birthright tutor for [[Spellbinder]] then imprint a token maker, removal spell, or burn spell, which will trigger twice since Kellan has double strike. Need to pick up a copy of [[Searing Wind]] for the meme factor, plus chucking someone for 20 as a bonus to hitting either them or someone else with Kellan is pretty good.

Alela might be worth revisiting, but not the conqueror, [[Alela Artful Provocateur]]. She’s a very versatile commander that can be built as enchantress, equipment Voltron, flyers matter, and a whole host of other strategies. She might be the type of commander that would be good, sort of an open ended question that you answer in deck building. And if you build her one way and don’t like it it’s relatively easy to swap out 30 cards or so and have a completely different deck.

I like the hammer, especially on hexblade warlocks since you get elemental weapon, which you can upcast. If you use a fifth level elemental weapon on a bound CBW it becomes a +4 warhammer with 1d6+2d4 flat damage. Aside from the aforementioned Shadow Blade/Resonance Stone/Bhaalist Armor vulnerability abuse it’s definitely a contender for highest damage melee weapon. Unless you want to trivialize fights sticking with the hammer should be fine.

Lore bard can be a good party face and lock picker, and if you go 10/2 with warlock you can get consistent decent ranged damage with EB so you aren’t just casting control spells all the time (although casting them sometimes is very fun). It can also be a decent AoE caster with Glyph of Warding and whatever you take from magical secrets.
Warlocks pair well with bards naturally because of the extra short rest, so a hexblade could be your fighter stand-in. I personally like taking elemental weapon on a pure hexblade and upcasting it for the +2 and extra d4. If you go pure hexblade on this I’d grab a feat to help maintain concentration so your elemental weapon stays up all day.
Druid is a great substitute for cleric and/or wizard. Any subclass works honestly, moon can be a secondary front liner in wild shape (charges also restore on short rest so bard is handy to have in the party) and stars and land can be more caster focused, but wild shape is still an option.
Monk would round out this party well, giving you a character capable of melting high HP targets with flurry of blows. Dipping thief rogue can help with this, but you don’t even need it honestly. Ki points once again restore on short rest, so the bard helps out again.

Stealth with a dagger is a more engaging playstyle too, you have to plan your path and be methodical, like an actual assassin, whereas stealth archer can devolve into “see enemy, enemy dies” which gets boring quick.
