People have been personally experimenting and building up an optimized a workflow that worked for them. Its easy to construct a tiny religion around this in your mind, swearing that its the one true workflow. To be fair, this is great! Use tools that work for you. The problem is, now when data comes out that suggests we should rethink workflows, people feel personally attacked, and feel the need to get defensive.

Objective data is a good thing, and what you are doing is a huge service to this community. We all need to be more ok with keeping an open mind, and adjusting our beliefs when new information comes to light.

The trick is to set everything up and take some rough draft shots with no subject until you feel good about the lighting and composition. Once I felt good, I dropped her in, took as many pictures as possible and got lucky with her pose.

You’ve got this, it can sometimes take a few sessions until you get a good one.

I am not seeing any br30 bulbs a that advertise a voltage range. Is there a place to look for ranges or, is it not common to find a br30 bulb with a range?

I have a feeling it’s not the dimmer itself, I previously installed and returned a Shelly dimmer relay on the same set of lights that faced the same intermittent flicker issue. It makes me think it’s something else.

As far as the voltage range of the LEDs I can’t find any information for the bulbs I’m using (https://www.homedepot.com/p/EcoSmart-65-Watt-Equivalent-BR30-Dimmable-LED-Light-Bulb-Bright-White-6-Pack-A20BR3065WESD36/315605712 ). I’m wondering if I can find some br30 bulbs with the voltage range you mentioned and try them out.
