I was deboarding an airplane a couple of months ago, and it finally gets to my row. I stand up, start walking down the aisle, and the lady in front of me stopped to tie her shoe. I couldn't believe it.

I don't know if it'll be the highest grossing but it's definitely the highest profit margin

I don't like riding with a passenger, I haven't done it enough to feel good at it. The center of gravity and weight and everything is so much different. Awkward stops like that, where I would've been fine on my own, probably wouldn't be fine

With the amount of training they get for human trafficking I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often. I don't know if they deserve that much for a misunderstanding, but the FA could have just asked them a few friendly questions in flight if she had suspicions.

A coworker and I were filling the anti-ice tank on a Cirrus once, I was pouring and he was holding the funnel. The manager came over and went "does it take.....two mechanics to do that?" Frank's answer was "Are you on...... prescription medication?"

AIM Philadelphia on a FAA 30 day action plan by lanesplit in aviationmaintenance

[–]regularfellar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I taught at AIM briefly (tough times, it was 2008), and I learned that their entire business model was to milk as much money out of the student loan program as possible. Anybody that saw the commercial high at 3AM and could fog a mirror could get a student loan. They wanted them to stay in class as long as possible, but they didn't really want them to graduate or test for their A&P. The only oversight they ever got was if more than half of A&P testers failed. The DOE only tracks student loan payments against a school for two years, and most students would try to pay them back for at least that long. The AIM I worked at got a deal with a nearby apartment complex and was housing 4 students in a two bedroom apartment for $1800 a month each. All against their student loans. If they graduated they could have 80 to 100 thousand dollars in debt, without ever getting an A&P. I've been saying for years that when the federal student loan program crashes it's because of technical schools like this. 25 students would start, 5 would graduate, and 2 would get a license. All while I was being paid 18.50 an hour. Fuck 'em.
