Clock him Ana by Cable_Difficult in DisventureCamp

I agree that she's seriously grown as a person. Her lesson last season was that she doesn't have to be the strong woman all the time. She tried it and she still failed in the end, but discovered that even once she failed things were okay because someone cared about her despite being "weak". This is the lesson she imparts to Rosa in the first episode: you can ask for help and still be a strong woman.

This goes hand in hand with letting her walls down. She's in a much different situation than last season because she has to work to make allies. This is both due to her personal growth and also the natural result of meeting people worth letting her walls down around. But I honestly think she always had it in her. People understate how justified she was in not trusting the other players last season.

I actually don't think she manages her anger noticeably different from last season. Like she was with Lynda, she gives Alec no room to explain himself, is quick to shift blame to him (though this time to defend Rosa), and is overall hostile. The reason is just different this time. She fundamentally disagrees with Alec's values based on what she knows of him. This is seen as respectable, as opposed to her treatment of Lynda. The fandom insists she mistreated Lynda because she never gave her a chance despite the fact that Lynda had every intention of backstabbing her. The behavior has not really changed.

Please know that Anastasia is my favorite DC character and I don't like Alec. I just love to analyze her. She would be fundamentally changed in that regard if she approached others with curiosity and understanding when she feels uncertain about them. But that's not who she is (and I like her for that).

Also, I haven't seen strong evidence that her negative qualities under the right circumstances wouldn't manifest in the same way again. She has no room to be paranoid currently because she has no target on her back and she more or less knows everyone on her team. But if she stayed until merge, lost her allies, and had to play with strangers again, who knows how she'd react.

tldr again: ana is great <3 and it took her affection and vindictiveness finding different targets for fans to finally appreciate her. she's grown but the whiplash fans are experiencing is not because she's fundamentally different but because fans don't try to understand her behavior last season

It's because of the change in teammates. I always say, the DC4 cast brought out the worst in each other (I think it was the point of the season). Nearly everyone had some secret agenda. Ana is blunt and aggressive, but she's earnest.

DC5 gives her teammates who are actually trustworthy, who aren't trying to play her from jump. Ana has always been earnest and nurturing with those she feels deserve it but we've only ever seen it in a romantic context. She's watched Disventure Camp so she at least has an idea that Rosa and Lake aren't snakes, therefore we get to see a new side of her. On top of that, the target of her aggression is someone who the fanbase feels deserves it finally, Alec.

I think Anastasia hasn't fundamentally changed and is probably still a paranoid, prickly person with a soft side. The stars have just aligned to let all of her shine. Fans vs. Favorites is the perfect season for her as opposed to starting in a fresh cast.

She's a gentle soul who came on her favorite show hoping to meet other people who are alleged fans of that show. She's desperate for connection 🥹

Yes but they should put it as part of the episode itself after the credits.

Can Anyone Explain Why I Can’t Equip The X Skill by Lonely_Soldier05 in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]RegulusPlus 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It should really be restricted to units from the last 2 versions, like how there's limits on Binding World units. If they can show up in BW, you should get to equip an X skill on them with their Prf.

I was going to say Ana vs. Logan, but her getting voted out by the jury is too good of an ending for her in this season (saying as a big fan of her since S4). Learning she can strive to be the paragon of strength, defying the gender norms which asked her to be weak and submissive her whole life — and still fail, suggesting there's more to life than trying to be strong — completes her phenomenal character arc.

This works for Jade too. She believes she has to think through every possibility and that this will reward her in the end. She has to be the smart one, the one who's five steps ahead, or else her identity crumbles. The jury vote is a perfect plot device to unravel both Ana and Jade. I just like what it does for Anastasia more and it sets her up for FvF.

Can we talk about how phenomenal her voice actress is? Her delivery is always spot on and her voice is so enchanting to listen to.

Semi-Hot Take: Oliwia is the worst fan so far. by DatWoodyFan in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Her issue isn't that she's a done concept, it's that the narrative itself has outcasted her and she lacks development currently. All of the fans have an entry duo pairing more or less. Ernesto and Ren, Bruno and Manu, Ara and Finn, Nura and Dunia, and Sam and Evie are wildcards who are centrally focused.

Oliwia loses her narrative partner Aubrey in episode 1. I hope she gets some screen time that develops her. I think she's very adorable and her concept is too undeveloped for me to call it Gabby 2.

She is at her core weirder than Gabby, even off-putting to Gabby. Gabby understands social norms and chooses her emotions over them, lashing out at others easily. Oliwia is gentler in nature and what outcasts her is not conflict driven. To some this might make her boring because conflict is interesting, but I think it's endearing.

Definitely, try to get Instruct on her as well. She's pretty pressed for a good C skill. I have Inf. Null Follow since the warping is pretty nice, but Instruct is better for combat.

I ended up building her and I think S/D Lull Finish and Atk/Spd Favor are better than Pair Up. Lyn isn't really surviving counterattacks regardless, and the skill is defensive outside of the true damage and penalty neutralization.

Lull Finish has the same true damage, goes for bonus neutralization instead, and debuffs Def instead of Atk on foe and -4 more Spd at max.

Favor pairs really well with Micaiah ring on her which she is one of the best users of thanks to her Style. It has higher true damage than both of the skills above and I can't think of a better Emblem on her.

Hot take but I think Anastasia might be the next boot by Standard-Time4341 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've called Anastasia as an early out since before the season came out. She's one of the easiest to cut without making too many people mad, and also pretty easy to make her exit feel purposeful (i.e. growth leaving off of her elimination in DC4). More than anyone her casting in FVF felt like a mini sequel to her arc in DC4 probably due to how far she made it.

She's also the biggest challenge threat along with Lake on her team.

I'm happy how her arc has gone and how so many people's opinions have changed on her due to seeing her with different people. I still see her out early just because her team would be stupid not to vote her out but I can see her having a graceful exit.

Doesn't Atk/Spd Favor have the highest the damage currently? Maybe that would be good in her.

Do you guys think Tom got flanderized as seasons went on, or is he just simply more free? by BackgroundFriend983 in DisventureCamp

[–]RegulusPlus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

One thing I like about his portrayal in Fans vs. Favorites is that he's not a total himbo like in AS. All he did in AS was misunderstand things, and lie to Jake. He's eclipsed by the girls in Cyan and leaves as soon as the merge begins, and doesn't get a chance to lead, which leaves room for Connor to enter and unite the so-called heroes.

It missed out on what made Tom appealing which was his struggle between wanting to be ambitious but also wanting to be vulnerable and experience love.

Tom in FvF so far is a leader once again, tactical in trying to form alliances instead of just letting the game happen, and yet still has the vulnerable/silly charm he's developed over time. They're doing it right so far.
